Purpose of Position: 

The Global Commercial Learning organization is responsible for the creation and delivery of product learning for customers and internal Hach associates. The Instructional Designer will contribute to the development of a portfolio of learning assets to be utilized in learning programs. Activities will include instructional design, development, project management, and creation of interactive learning, including multimedia such as audio, video, animations, simulations, etc. 

Essential Functions:
  • Conceptualizes, designs, and produces online courses that demonstrate complex technical constructs and concepts using tools like iSpring, Articulate, or Captivate.
  • Uses various instructional technologies to improve teaching and learning. Jointly develops, designs, and creates learning solutions.
  • Consults one-on-one with subject matter experts and instructors in exploring possibilities and constructing learning content.
  • Collaborates and communicates with other learning developers, instructional designers, and graphic designers.
  • Effectively manages projects, stakeholders, and communication for on time delivery 
  • Creates graphics, animations, videos, and learning interfaces for learning portals, e-learning, mobile learning and communications products.
  • Creates interactive and animated graphics and videos using a variety of tools, including the Adobe Creative Suite.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree in instructional design, education, communication, multimedia, graphic design or related field
  • Professional experience of 5-7 years curriculum development / instructional design 
  • Strong project management skillset
  • Creativity tempered with an understanding of the intended audience, client culture, and learning objectives and preferences.
  • Ability to function as a creative self-starter and to work in a team environment.
  • Understanding of human computer factors and interface design.
  • Experience with developing user-interface designs, Web-based training, mobile learning, and other multimedia products, including audio, video, and animations.
  • Experience with graphic design packages, including the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within an organization.
  • Ability and willingness to adapt to a dynamic set of standards and tools.
  • Ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
  • Knowledge of the scientific industry and water analysis preferred.
  • Knowledge of HTML, HTML5 and JavaScript preferred
  • Experience with learning management systems a plus.
