Description

As a member of the Global Information Security team, this position will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and maintaining automation solutions related to key areas of the information security platform at Beckman Coulter. These areas include incident response, security controls in both on-premise and cloud environments, and operational support of the business and their use of our security services. The engineer will also be an active member of cross-functional project teams to design security controls around new systems. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with a solid skillset in software development processes and should be well versed in at least one development or scripting language. A strong foundation in information security concepts and systems design is also required.

Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:




    • Work closely with the information security team to architect and develop automation solutions for responding to security incidents. This may include alerting, ticket generation, and automated correction of the issue.


    • Actively identity areas of improvement of security processes with the goal of decreasing response times, increasing effectiveness, and eliminating waste


    • Develop solutions to assist with the prevention and detection of common security violations in our IT systems both on-premise and in the cloud.


    • Serve as security resource to multiple development and project teams’ efforts to determine the needs of the business and implement software solutions securely.


    • Participate in the software development life cycle to ensure sound security solutions are implemented for new systems.


    • Participate in planning, implementation, and growth of our Amazon Web Services (AWS) footprint and other cloud services.


    • Assist with system administration duties of information security tools including upgrades, maintenance, and issue resolution


    • Respond to security incidents as needed, communicating with affected parties and following standard remediation processes

Job Requirements



Qualifications




    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field and 5+ years of technical professional experience. This experience should comprise of 3+ years in a development or information security role and at least 1 year of experience in the other domain.


    • Thorough understanding of network security concepts and networking technologies


    • Thorough understanding of information security principles, techniques, and protocols


    • Experience with programming and infrastructure automation (e.g. Python, Bash, etc).


    • Experience designing and implementing software based solutions in an enterprise environment


    • Familiarity with web application technologies and concepts surrounding their secure deployment


    • Minimum of 1 year of AWS experience or competing cloud platform


    • A team player capable of high performance and flexibility in a dynamic working environment


    • Taking ownership and acting with high sense of urgency, this job requires the individual to work like an entrepreneur and be the champion for their initiatives.
