The Industrial Engineer is responsible for all the aspects of document control, configuration management, and engineering change orders in support of accurate bill of materials, routings, and labor studies.  They directly support implementing changes and adjustments to manufacturing standards and costs that contribute to the establishment and maintenance of key performance metrics for inventory management, OTD, and labor productivity as well as being involved with project management of key products, programs, and/or suppliers.

  • Translate manufacturing/supply base processes into part configurations and items masters in Oracle to support inventory and manufacturing programs.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Planning, and/or miscellaneous internal customers to drive engineering changes throughout the organizations.
  • Document new products/processes and changes via the engineering change order policy
  • Responsible performing and maintaining labor time studies for all processes.
  • Manage item master control and maintenance of key attributes for assigned product families.
  • Actively communicates project status via visual project management including written reports, daily management participation.
  • Work cross functionally to lead efforts towards evaluating current state and altering the item configuration parameters (BOM/Router) to improve accuracy of product cost and inventory levels and takes actions to resolve cycle count variances.
  • Leads process and cost improvements by working with line associates to developing and maintaining standard work and value stream maps.
  • Champions the continuous improvement culture and lean initiatives.
  • Accountable for driving and maintaining action plans for accomplishing the organizations’ strategic vision.
  • Work with various teams to install and drive solid Daily Management (DM) and problem solving (PSP).
  • Complies with ISO and FDA procedures.
  • Controls and maintains factory layouts and provides assistance for space planning.
  • Actively supports engineering and materials team members in their daily tasks.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Materials Management or Operations related degree.  A combination of some education and 4+ year of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 2+ years relevant experience in a high volume Distribution or Manufacturing facility required

  • 5-7 years relevant experience in a high volume Distribution/Manufacturing facility desired.
  • 5+ years of Oracle experience
  • Knowledge about operations management
  • Willing to pursue and close out (Master Black Belt) MBB for standard work, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and Transactional Process Improvement (TPI) within 2 years in position.
  • Strong disposition for process oriented thinking with a mind for continuous improvement.
  • Excellent leadership skills, well grounded in coaching and mentoring individual development
  • Collaborative and teamwork oriented approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to analyze business process and present best fit solutions to management for continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of high performance business systems (lean background preferred)
  • CAD/solidworks experience
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in Project Management and Data Analytics.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the proper handling of chemicals and waste, both hazardous and nonhazardous, as defined by FDA, OSHA, EPA and DOT.
  • High degree of joint accountability and ability to create and foster continuous improvement culture in department.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.)
