Position Summary

The Global Product Manager – Antibodies will be responsible for the development, launch and on market life cycle management of the LBS antibody products as a part of our Advanced Staining portfolio. The Global Product Manager – Antibody drives revenue performance of our BOND and manual Antibody Primary Antibodies products and manages product performance, product launches and product portfolio strategies to differentiate Leica Biosystems in the marketplace. The Global Product Manager – Antibody will work as a partner to Global Product Manager for BOND and the Global Product Manager for Detection.

Major Responsibilities

•         Responsibility/accountability for a portion of the Antibody portfolio, product revenue number globally

•         Manage products throughout their lifecycle ensuring continuing commercial success of new products and pruning of old products

•         Own the maintenance and growth of a portion of our Antibody portfolio business.

•         Drive marketing activities and development of sales tools to maximize product revenues

•         Execute launch of new products according to Product Launch Excellence (PLE) process

•         Develops product portfolio strategies including pricing, competition, market conditions, etc.

•         Develops the 3 to 5 year strategic road map for our Antibody portfolio products.

•         Must remain up to date with relevant regional markets on prices, competition, opportunities.

•         Act as the Voice of Customer/Sales for product enhancements and new product developments

•         Working with marketing communication on messaging of value proposition and positioning of the Antibody products / solutions to ensure marketing collateral maximises sales outcomes.

•         Supporting the selling units with product training and competitive selling training

•         Ad hoc work with the Strategy and Innovations group on potential new product opportunities

•         Work with R&D on new product development according to the PLE and APD process

Additional Responsibilities specific to Antibody portfolio

•         Support for Antibody products sales process by:

a.     Defining Antibody products Product User needs and Product requirements in relationship to the development process - from initial inception to obsolescence

b.     Manage the User needs and ensure the products scope remains intact throughout the Development process

c.     Conduct basic analysis of potential market opportunity for future Antibody portfolio products in order to guide the Open Innovations and R and D team in the types of future Antibody products needed by the LBS Selling Units.

d.     Function as key member of the development core team for future Antibody products development

e.     Work with regional SUs and Global registration team for product registrations of our Antibody portfolio product line.

f.      Work with the Global Product Manager for CDx in reference to Companion Dx opportunities involving the LBS Antibody portfolio products.

Job Requirements



§   Medical Diagnostics Product Management or Marketing and / or Sales experience

§   Sales and/or Technical support management experience preferred

§   Innate commercial acumen of the Anatomic Pathology Diagnostics space preferred

§   Experience in Biomedical industry, Medical Device or Cancer Diagnostics industry preferred

§   MBA level business skills preferred


§   Graduate or post-graduate qualifications in business or related discipline.

§   Graduate or post-graduate qualifications in science (Medical Science or Biology).
