Position Objective:

The role of product management spans many activities from strategic to tactical. Listening to the market means first observing problems and then solving them. In other words, a company must be market-driven (market pull). Product managers act like change agents, have a strong business orientation and motivate others with a compelling product/market pair.  Their objective is to find the best way to describe market requirements in order to create and position a product that will attract the right customers. Being the voice of the market back to the company is where product managers make the strongest contribution.

As the Product Manager Instrumentation and IoT, you will be responsible for engaging with our customers on the 4 layers (Device hardware, Device software, Cloud and Data integrity for all Palltronic Integrity Test instruments) to translate business requirements and customer problems into problem statements and product concept maps for our development teams. The PM will guide Engineering and suppliers in the design of features and management of the deployment through the release process.

As BioTech Core portfolios have a high degree of annuity business, BioTech Core product managers need to drive and execute portfolio optimisation and sustainability programs through the complete post-launch product life cycle.

Main Duties:
  • Product management must understand our instrumentation products (see 4 layers above), users, their jobs-to be- done  as well as user interfaces, since customer-facing applications usually get the most attention.
  • IoT, internal applications are equally important (these include remote troubleshooting, monitoring the health of the device fleet, reporting on performance, predictive maintenance, collecting cloud data on process performance of devices and consumables to provide feedback to both Pall production and to users on how to improve performance.
  • Development of Internal applications require a deep understanding of both external and internal customers and the right prioritisation and resourcing.
  • They are a key component of an IoT solution, so it’s product management’s responsibility to ensure they get done.
  • Product manager IoT should monitor latest trends in data security and regulatory guidelines and provide those specifications back to the development teams.
  • Product manager IoT should provide promotion strategy to product marketing, based on strengths in satisfied customer requirements and continuous improvement.

    • Define user personas for individual products
    • Position the product for all markets and buyer types

Job Requirements


Experience & Knowledge:
  • 3+ years of experience in technical sales or marketing of IoT related applications;
  • Demonstrated success in product launches and end-to-end execution of marketing strategies;
  • Ability to do product demonstrations;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills required; experience working in a matrix environment and managing multiple priorities and projects with dynamic timelines to execution:
    • Strong leadership and influencing skills;
    • Excellent writing and communication skills; at up to director/ VP level
    • Focused and results oriented;
    • Change agent with proven track record successfully navigating a matrix organization.
    • Knowledge of the Internet and prior experience utilizing the web as a marketing vehicle;
  • Experience working in a highly technical organization interacting with scientific and technical personnel, including field sales personnel and engineers:
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects; 
    • Experience managing and driving change throughout the organization;
    • Courageous problem solver;
  • Ability to identify new opportunities for growth and communicate these opportunities successfully, including management through to execution:
    • Ability to translate marketing data to business recommendations;
