As a Global Marketing Manager on our Immunohistochemistry (IHC) business you are a brand ambassador, storyteller, influencer and responsible for positioning Leica Biosystems as a leader in advancing cancer diagnostics and improving lives.  Working across a global team, you will connect the dots across the voice of our customers, market trends, data and patient stories to create compelling value propositions/ messaging and content to differentiate the product portfolio in the market place. 

The ideal candidate is someone who can ignite passion and engagement with the brand, has the ability to develop strong global marketing plans to support product/portfolio launches, can develop messaging that resonates with target audiences and loves to write and plays a key role as a connector across a global organization.

A successful candidate will be able to articulate complex content into simple soundbites and compelling stories that drive engagement and work across the IHC platform.  With Business Units located in Melbourne, Newcastle and Amsterdam, this individual must have demonstrated success driving results working both virtually and in person across a global environment.

The IHC Global Marketing Manager will collaborate with business and strategic partners, work with cross functional teams and leadership and interface with Sr. Leadership in the organization. 

We need a branding guide and content strategist who can do the following:

Content Marketing

  • Own the development of compelling and engaging product/ portfolio content including necessary proof point to support the product/ portfolio value proposition. All content needs to connect customers with Leica Biosystems. Curate and edit content as needed.

  • Understands the customers/personas and buyer journey to develop content relevant to both. 

  • Drive value prop and messaging development and ensure differentiation with compelling content. This includes monitoring competitive positioning, value prop and messaging.

  • Develops content to help re-position an existing portfolio based on clear segmentation of personas and targets.

  • Articulate complex content into simple soundbites and compelling stories that drive engagement.

  • Collaborate across the organization to transform data, information and stories into short stories conveyed via blogs, videos, podcasts, case studies and other medium.

  • Works closely with campaign managers and provides input with regards to campaign content and CTA.

Product / Solution Launches

  • Develops global marketing plans to help position the product/portfolio through a content strategy that enables differentiation and closes the gap in the Buyer Journey (Awareness, consideration all the way through advocacy)
  • Collaborate with the product manager to develop the brand’s personality, naming, value prop, messaging, translations and launch deliverables.
  • Work with the SU’s to map personas with buyer journey, content needs and messaging roadmap. Deliverables may include taglines, claims, digital and non-digital assets.
  • In collaboration with product manager, consistently evaluate brand strategy to ensure differentiated and meaningful branding and messaging in each region.  
  • Working across the organization as needed, develop a holistic positioning around how the brand integrates as part of a Solution and into Vision24

How will you engage customers to our brand?

  • You will stay abreast of trends and new thinking to drive deep customer engagements.

  • Use analytics, commercial insights and conduct VOC to develop fresh and relevant content strategies and content.

  • Evaluate efforts using metrics & analytics, building upon successful campaigns/initiatives.

  • Test new tactics and messaging options. Continually refine based on analytics and customer insights.

Job Requirements



Education: Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or relevant discipline.


  • 7 – 10 years marketing, brand, content, marketing and management experience, preferably in healthcare.
  • Track record of developing marketing messages and content.
  • Solid analytic skills in order to lead market research and voice of customer initiatives.
  • Ability to leverage data creatively and visually.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams, agencies and freelance.
  • Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with internal and external customers

Desired Experience and Skills

  • Education: MBA preferred.
  • We are looking for someone with prior experience as a marketing manager or strategic marketing (to include segmentation, customer experience, personas, customer profiles, positioning, identifying unique points of differentiation, competitive intelligence).
  • A solid understanding of Leica Biosystems market or solutions and the needs they fulfil for customers.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required as this is a high visibility position, interacting with multiple external and internal constituents across all levels of associates, including L1 Sr. Management
  • Agile with the ability to handle a multitude of projects and a sense of urgency
  • Strong collaboration in a highly matrixized organization
  • Expertise in marketing with the ability to push back and influence various stakeholders

Travel: International travel is required in this role as part of the responsibilities of this position; estimated 4 -6 times/year
