The Global Marketing Manager for the SCIEX Portfolio and Technology Innovations will be responsible for developing strategic and tactical global marketing programs, aligned with the objectives of the business and regional sales and marketing, to drive global demand generation and increase win rate.  The ideal candidate will exhibit a strong understanding of the SCIEX portfolio, including knowledge of market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics, leveraging that knowledge to build positioning, messaging, marketing content, and integrated outbound marketing campaigns, establishing SCIEX as an industry leader and improving brand recognition to support business growth.

Main Position Objectives


  1. Develop global marketing strategy and plans aligned to business and segment marketing objectives

  2. Write value propositions, positioning, and messaging that will differentiate the SCIEX portfolio and unique technology innovations, reaffirming SCIEX as the industry leader

  3. Write subject matter for core marketing and sales collateral for both internal and external marketing

  4. Establish and implement campaign channel strategy for outbound marketing based on business objectives, with strong focus on leveraging digital channels

  5. Work cross-functionally to support the continuous development and implementation of global content and campaigns


  • Develop and lead strategic global marketing programs centered around the SCIEX portfolio and unique technology innovations, strengthening SCIEX’s leadership position, growing our market visibility, and improving brand awareness.

  • Drive creation of value propositions and competitive differentiated positioning for key SCIEX products and innovations based on deep understanding of customer pain points, needs, and buying criteria.

  • Develop messaging and creative identity for the SCIEX Portfolio, and ensure alignment with the corporate brand hierarchy and the market vertical initiatives and strategies.

  • Devise integrated global marketing campaigns to fuel demand generation, build awareness and preference, increase win rate, and promote customer retention. 

  • Lead the development of marketing and sales collateral and content, both physical and digital, needed for sales support and outbound campaigns; drive adoption globally.

  • Develop and execute integrated marketing plans for the launch of new products and solutions into multiple market areas, working closely with cross-functional teams in product management and regional sales and marketing.

  • Establish and monitor relevant metrics and analytics to ensure marketing strategies, programs, and activities are executed effectively and delivering impact across marketing channels and regions.

  • Continuously evolve and improve marketing programs to optimize performance and improve ROI; robustly manage marketing budget based on results and outcomes.

  • Understand regional market dynamics and requirements and utilize to continuously improve global marketing strategy.

  • Partner with SCIEX global marketing managers and global digital marketing team to fully leverage resources for growth.

  • Implement standard work and communications to maintain global and regional marketing team alignment.

  • Serve as a brand ambassador, working together with the cross-functional team to ensure marketing programs and materials align to and strengthen the global SCIEX brand.

Job Requirements


  • 5+ years’ experience in life sciences marketing, sales, and/or technical support roles with customer and account experience

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in a Biological or Chemical Science; MS or PhD preferred; demonstrated training and/or experience in marketing, business administration, or related field a strong plus

  • Broad understanding of mass spectrometry technology and market; technical competency in one or more specific mass spec application areas highly desired

  • Clear thinker with the ability to translate market knowledge into impactful and differentiating value propositions, aligned to target customer personas

  • Strong technical and creative writing skills, with the ability to turn complex concepts into clear and impactful positioning and messaging for sales and marketing content and campaign development

  • Strong communicator with experience working in a global environment and highly-matrixed organization with cross-functional teams, both directly and remotely

  • Demonstrated ability in start-to-finish project management, from planning and conceptualization through to execution and metrics-based results analysis

  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with ability to multitask and manage competing priorities

  • Highly motivated and results-driven, with ability to work independently and through effective lateral influencing to achieved desired outcomes

  • Strong process orientation, problem solving and troubleshooting skills and a firm commitment to quality 

  • Executive presence with strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to perform exceptionally in fast-paced, performance-oriented environment

  • Must be available for a minimum of 25% domestic and international travel
