Position Summary:

Supervise Global IT Operations team providing first level Incident Management and Request Fulfilment. In addition responsible for Event Management and System monitoring on all critical infrastructure assets and ownership of Major Incident Management for severity 1 outages. Acts as Change and Problem Manager for all IT Infrastructure teams and systems, provides detailed analytics on Infrastructure performance.

Main Duties:
  • Supervise Global IT Operations team for function providing first level Incident Management and Request Fulfilment
  • Lead Manager on Duty process and coordinate recovery for all major incidents.
  • Own Infrastructure Problem Management ensuring root causes are identified and remediated, and workarounds for known errors documented
  • Lead Infrastructure CAB meetings in a Change Manager capacity, ensuring all changes are documented and approved in line with policy
  • Participate in projects to ensuring effective service transition to IT Operations for support purposes
  • Provide analytics identifying support tends and hotspots, opportunities to automate, eliminate or self-serve.
  • Monitor critical asset health and availability, resolve alerts and manage escalations
  • Develop team and IT Operation function, continually extending capabilities
  • Ensure daily operations, administration and standard work is completed in line with policies and procedures
  • Perform regular performance reviews of staff, provide updates for manager and initiate/participate in any corrective action.
  • Contribute to meeting the departmental key performance indicators.

  • Provide training to user community as required.

Job Requirements


Essential Previous Experience & Education:
  • Leadership experience in a desktop support environment.
  • Strong experience of network applications / operating systems / hardware.
  • Strong experience application servers / operating systems / infrastructure both physical and cloud based.
  • Lead Change Management meetings in a Change Manager capacity
  • Significant Problem Management experience
  • Degree

  • Up-to-date professional certification in the relevant technical area
Knowledge & Key Skills:
  • Excellent knowledge of PC hardware and associated peripherals.
  • Excellent knowledge of network hardware and management tools.
  • Excellent knowledge of network operating systems and applications.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft O/S, Server and Desktop
  • Excellent knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP & TCP/IP.
  • Ability to use technical documentation and diagnostic tools to solve hardware and software problems.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent judgement and strong analytical skills as well as follow-up and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, parallel projects.
  • Staff / Team management, Delegation & Strong mentoring skills.
  • Able to perform Risk assessments
