Position Summary

The Global Content Marketing Manager will think like a marketer and publish like a journalist.  Working across a global organization, this individual is responsible for driving global marketing activities aligned with the launch excellence process as well as content across the buyer’s journey in support of the Core Histology business.

This individual collaborates with and guides the Product Management, Selling Unit and Digital marketing teams in articulating strong value props and delivering high impact, customer facing materials and programs across a variety of online and offline platforms.

Major Responsibilities

Content Marketing 

  •   Drive the development of the content marketing strategy for the core histology business.
  • Work closely with BU’s and SU’s to align personas and content with buying stages, with channel selection based on highest ROI.

  • Understand persona drivers, pain points, jobs to be done, information consumption preferences (eg. type of content, channels) and how customers engage across the buyer’s journey.

  • Develop compelling messaging that resonates with customers.  Drive and manage messaging VOC.

  • Work across the BU's, SU's, digital team and designers to develop and curate content, publish and promote finished articles and other thought leadership to meet brand and campaign objectives.

  • Maximize the quality of content produced by a creative network: writers, designers, video creators.

  • Provide feedback, guidance and creative review of content, managing multiple projects and resources simultaneously. Manage related translations and action plans.

  • Diligent monitoring of competition relative to positioning, messaging, branding and content marketing efforts to ensure Leica Biosystems remains differentiated.

  • Leverage analytics and commercial insights to develop fresh and relevant content strategies and content.

  • Adhere to the MMCP and MAPSS process for all materials.

Product / Solution Launches

  • Collaborate with the product manager to develop the brand’s personality, naming, value prop, messaging and launch deliverables as outlined in the Launch Excellence process.
  • Work with the SU’s to map personas with buyer journey, content needs and messaging roadmap.

  • In collaboration with product manager, consistently evaluate brand strategy to ensure differentiated and meaningful branding and messaging in each region.  

  • Working across the organization as needed, develop a holistic positioning around how the brand integrates as part of a Solution and into VISION24.

Job Requirements



Master Degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or relevant discipline.  


  • Demonstrated track record of writing clear and compelling content.
  • Demonstrated competency in all aspects of developing and driving content marketing strategies and understanding messaging for diverse markets and geographies.

  • Health Care / Life Science experience

Desired Education, Experience, Skills

  •  MBA in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or relevant discipline preferred 
  • Advertising Agency experience as an account supervisor level or higher.
  •  A solid understanding of Leica Biosystems market or solutions and the needs they fulfil for customers is essential

  • A solid understanding of DBS tools and processes related to the position 

  • Strategic Marketing (to include segmentation, customer experience, personas, customer profiles, positioning, identifying unique points of differentiation, competitive intelligence)

  • Adobe Creative Cloud (in design, photo shop) 

  • International travel is required in this role as part of the responsibilities of this position; estimated 2 – 3 times/year

  •  Excellent oral and written communication skills required as this is a high visibility position, interacting with multiple external and internal constituents across all levels of associates, including L1 Sr. Management
  • Team player yet at the same time drive results with a bias towards action

  • Disciplined use of action plans and other relevant tools to drive consistency in process.
