Description

Role Purpose:

Global Business Unit Manager will provide proactive support that enables our sales organizations to win, and make Linx a market share leader, via the following activities:

– Providing products that meet our customers marking and coding needs and have distinct and advantaged value propositions

– Equipping our sales teams with the necessary tools and training in order to effectively convey to target customers the advantages our products, services and organization provide

– Ensuring the ongoing quality of the products and world-class level of support is maintained

– Proactively driving demand creation across the organization

Job Requirements



Qualifications

Tasks and Responsibilities: 

• Steward of the product line in terms of financial health and product competitiveness

• Developer of product positioning, messaging and associated sales tools and marketing campaigns

• Global expert on market trends & competitive movement and crafter of appropriate response and countermeasures

• Watchdog on product quality and support capabilities

• Disseminator of relevant information and facilitator of communication and idea sharing among regions


Product Launch:


• Develop key messaging and work with Marketing to ensure consistency of message

•  With Marketing determine which materials and tools will be deployed

•  Directly create applicable content such as customer presentation, battlecards, value proposition, accessory guides, etc.

•  Develop pricing strategy for use by the regions

•  Coordinate with Distribution Sales Managers to develop regional rollout plans

Sales Support:

•  Proactive coordination with Regions on Top 5 opportunities including development of strategies

to win the business

•  Involvement in instances where special assistance is required to close an order or maintain a customer relationship

•  Tools to qualify an application and prepare a TCO comparison

• Articulate clear value proposition including ROI calculations


Sales Training:


• Creation of framework including necessary tools and training schedule

• Develop materials

• Train the trainer (specifics to vary by product)

Competitive Analysis:


Takes input from the regions regarding competitive movement and trends and distils it for use in the development of:

•  Strategic Plan

•  Product Roadmap

• Short term tactical responses on global level

Strategy Plan Development:


• Develop Product Level Start Plan with global view on driving revenue, margin and share

improvement

• Create deployment plan across regions to enact Strategic initiatives

•  Assist with Linx annual Strat Plan as required, including updating of market Mekkos

•  Market segmentation

Daily Management:


•Creation and updates to Visual Management tools (Bowlers, Scorecards etc.)

• Proactive monitoring on a global level of visual tools to spot trends and take action to stay on

track to meet targets

Product Lifecycle:


•  In close coordination with Product Planner, development of PLCM agenda and completion of

prework

•  Commercial Deliverables for PLCM

•  Facilitate alignment on project prioritization and timing with all applicable constituencies

New Product Development:


•  Key member of development stage/toll gates

•  Sign-off on MRD, Launch plan and other applicable stage/toll gate deliverables

•  Applicable NPD stage/toll gate deliverables including attendance at project team meetings

• The lead on finding and securing Alpha & Beta field trial sites, including development of target

customer criteria, coordination of legal documentation and interface to the customer in

regard to delivery, install, ongoing operation and equipment removal


Essential:


Bachelor’s in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related studies

At least 5 years of marketing expertise including product launch and VOC

5+ years of experience as a leader, strong communicator, with effective interpersonal skills

Able to elicit and understand customer needs and translate customer needs into product requirements

Results oriented, must drive sales for CIJ products and will be measured by total revenue, units and market share gain


Preferred:


MBA preferred

Product marketing experience within a related industry supporting the packaging industry

Experience with P&L and can extrapolate for P&L

Additional language skills desirable
