Description

General Manager Europe- Commercial Operations is responsible for providing leadership of the European Sales function as well as the indirect leadership of the related commercial and shared service functions.  Drives business growth and the achievement of the annual financial plan for the Mammotome European business.  The GM will develop and execute strategic plans to outgrow the market and competition.  Create followership throughout the region, leading Mammotome associates on our journey to win in the market, while providing a best in class customer experience and an engaging environment for Mammotome associates to fulfill their career objectives. 


Responsibilities
•Provide direction and leadership to exceed revenue, margin, operating profit, market share, and customer satisfaction goals for a commercial organization covering the Europe Direct Regions (Italy, France, Germany, Poland). The region has approx. 35 associates and sales of approx. $30M. 
•Develop and execute strategic business plan with the goal of improving financial performance and increasing market share
•Develop annual budgets based on strategies and ensures adherence.
•Drive use of Danaher Business Systems (DBS) tools to challenge and develop the business capabilities of the teams in a manner which motivates them to strive for continuous improvement and organizational excellence.
•Monitor industry trends and collaborate with the executive team to identify new business development opportunities.
•Partner with regional technology leaders to countermeasure portfolio gaps and offer a competitive package of products and services to our customers. 
•Build brand awareness and preference for company products. 
•Lead active and productive interface between Marketing, Finance, HR and the Sales Org.
•Recruit, hire, and build high performance teams across the regional span of Europe Direct. Oversee the growth and development of direct reports including ensuring development of talent for leadership roles within Mammotome and Danaher..
•Ensure 100% compliance and integrity policies and guidelines.


Customer Relationships
•Proactively identifies, establishes and maintains strong relationships with key customers and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to drive thought leadership.
•Aligns internal and external resources for a comprehensive approach to the customer.
•Prepares and reviews financial models to recommend strategies to meet customer’s needs.
•Assesses customer needs and prepares strategic plans to optimize customer satisfaction and the Company’s business goals.
•Understands customer needs and establishes specific business plans and solutions that meet those needs (short and long term) while driving business objectives.
•Proactively recommends changes to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the sales organization.
•Demonstrates proper use of products and communicates the Company value proposition.

Job Requirements



Qualifications

Required skills/Experience
•15 years’ experience in leading cross-functional teams within medical technology markets (or related scientific products segment) in a variety of sales & marketing positions to include: sales management, product/marketing management, customer service, strategic planning, new business development, and market research.
•Demonstrated expertise growing the top line and bottom line of an multi-national medical technology or scientific products business with at least $100 million in total annual sale.
•Demonstrated expertise with the Danaher Business Systems tools or similar systems, such as Problem Solving Process (PSP) and using Voice of Customer to address business issues, use of Kaizen Tools and introduction of standard work to continuously improve business processes and results.
•Demonstrated expertise in the selection, development, training, and management of professionals and leaders.
•Language: English plus one other European language

•Fluent in multiple European languages (Germany, French, Italian)
•Experience in Breast Cancer Diagnostics
•Medical degree
•Experience managing indirect and direct channels
•SFDC expertise
•Marketing expertise, including digital

Education
•Bachelor Degree required, Master's degree in Business Administration preferred, Biomedical Engineering, or relevant field (or equivalent foreign education) 

Travel requirements
•Position requires car and air travel on a routine basis.
•Overnight travel required up to 50% of the time.
•Works in the field with customers, Sales Managers, and Sales Representatives, a minimum of 75% of the work week.
