          Summary of Position:

This position tests, calibrates, and repairs measuring and indicating instruments for conformance to established standards. Sets up equipment for tests and measures accuracy of instruments used to record rate of flow. Adjusts instruments to calibration standards.  Has strong working knowledge and understanding of computers and calibration process and must work under minimal supervision.

           Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions:

•        Tests, calibrates, and repairs all general production measuring and indicating instruments for conformance to established standards. Requires minimal supervision.

•        Measures parts for conformity with specifications using precision measuring instruments.

•        Performs experiments or tests which may require nonstandard procedures and complex instrumentation.

•        Modifies standard equipment to meet special technical requirements.

•        Records, computes and analyzes test data.

•        Prepares reports and records on calibration, inspection, testing and repair activities.

•        Troubleshoots malfunctioning equipment and makes repairs as needed.

•        Observes and complies with all safety regulations and company policies.

        Other Responsibilities and Functions:

•        Operates powered industrial truck (forklift) to load and unload material.

•        Teamwork: Establishes and maintains productive working relationships.

•        Cleans and performs routine maintenance on experimental or test equipment. Maintains clean, orderly, and safe work area.

•        Assists with the training needs of team members and provides on-the-job training where appropriate.

•        Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

•        Customer Focus: Consistently keep internal and external customers highly informed as necessary.

•        Continuous Improvement: Enthusiastically participates in all DBS activities related to position.

•        Maintains a commitment to teamwork and a positive, supportive attitude to all personnel.

•        Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Job Requirements


           Education and Experience:

•        Experience: Minimum 5-8 years of work experience.  Manufacturing/Shop lead with mechanical trade background preferred.

•        Education:  High School Diploma or GED; Associates Degree preferred.

•        Computers: Microsoft Office, Spreadsheets, Email Communication, Data Visualization/Analytical.

          Skills and Competencies:

•        Job Skills:  Excellent mathematics orientation.

•        Specific: Basic knowledge of assembly, testing process, computer spreadsheets, analytical/statistical data.

•        Administrative: Ability to read and understand written instructions, specifications, blueprints or sketches.

•        Ability to work in a positive manner with other associates within cell areas. Lead small team/projects.

•        Quality of Work: Regularly produces quality work and welcomes productive feedback to improve performance.

•        Results Achieved: Maintain productivity levels that meet/exceed expectations in a face paced environment.

•        Technical Excellence: Obtain maximum benefit of tools and resources available to position.
