Finance Manager

We are passionate about finding a Finance Manager to join Digital Imaging business in Leica Biosystems as a true business partner at our site in Vista, California! The Finance Manager is responsible for all aspects of the preparation of forecasting & management reporting. In addition, the person in this role will have exposure to multi-site responsibility, consolidating the total Imaging Solutions business including the management reporting of Dublin, Newcastle and our India Development Center. Working closely with the Global Finance Director of Advance Staining and Imaging, this person will act as a respected partner to the VP, Product Development & Operations of Imaging Solutions, site functional leads & management teams working to drive operational improvements in support of financial growth and success.

Responsibilities:

  • Acting as an integral member of the site management team providing leadership to the wider business relating to financial management and commercial decision making.
  • Partner with and actively involve business partners to ensure financial management responsibilities are understood and financial goals are exceeded.
  • Deploy targets and proactively work with partners across the business to ensure risks are identified and accurately counter measured.
  • Develop annual budget by partnering with executives throughout the organization so that all investments are included, all savings are realized, and the budget submission meets profitability targets.
  • Anticipate and identify business issues and emerging needs for senior management and utilize appropriate action plans to improve business.
  • Direct ownership of preparation of forecasts and monthly financial reporting tools, with thoughtful analysis of trends.
  • Coordination and preparation of financial processes including Budget and standard within the frame of issued financial targets.
  • Continuously develop appropriate key performance indicators to drive growth, improve profitability, and enhance efficiency.
  • Deliver highly valuable financial insight to the relevant management teams to support operational and strategic decision making.
  • Oversee and maintain the relationship with the shared service center in Cincinnati to ensure that accounting responsibilities are delivered.
  • Ensure high quality of and accountability for data within SAP, including accuracy and completeness of standard costs.
  • Develop, modify and execute department and corporate policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and ethical standards.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship and development for the Financial Analyst.
  • Initiate projects as required to advance Leica Biosystems commercial and business interests.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years’ experience in finance. To increase likelihood of a successful match in your career move in our quick moving, fast-growing organization, please consider the following experience:
  • Proven ability to lead and influence teams, particularly in an international business pertaining to the commercial and technical aspects of finance, driving and sustaining progress.
  • Ability and desire to be a business partner with site management, mentoring non-finance colleagues.
  • Proficiency in supporting manufacturing and knowledge of standard costing.
  • Having a CPA and/or experience with cost accounting preferred.
  • Capability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and working in an integrated ERP system such as SAP.
Travel:  Occasional travel < 20% including international
Language:  English
Supervisory Responsibility: One direct report, Financial Analyst
Internal Relationships:
  • Finance team including shared service centers in Cincinnati and Nussloch as well as colleagues in Newcastle and Melbourne
  • Site management team
  • Other functional teams based locally and internationally plus the NA SU
  • Senior leadership team of ASI, LBS and the NA SU
External Relationships:
  • Includes Auditors, Customers and Vendors
