Leica Biosystems Richmond is a
well-established provider of consumables and medical device accessories for
clinical histology and research laboratories. 
The facility works closely with our UK, German, and Australian
facilities in the development, manufacturing and marketing products including
processing reagents, storage and specimen transport devices, cytology
accessories and safety products.

This is a globally focused business with
significant sales and operations in the US, Europe, and Asia Pacific as well as
a direct presence in over 100 countries.


  • Partner with the Histology Consumables Business Unit staff in
    building the budget, forecast, and variance reporting for the Richmond location
    and global HC selling/business units.
  • Accountable for Richmond, Elsfeld P&L
  • Support Global Supply Chain including modelling business cases for
    improvement initiatives.
  • Consolidation of management and acquisition reporting.
  • Support Operations departments to identify costing variances and
    partner with operations team to drive improvements
  • Support the marketing departments on pricing strategies and
    financial modeling new product releases.
  • Provide financial support to process improvement teams/Kaizen
  • Analyze and report results on daily/weekly/monthly KPIs and present
    opportunities as a result. 
  • Support Shared Service Accounting team with compliance related to
    SOX audits and controls.
  • Ad hoc reporting to support the marketing and operations
  • Provide high level customer service and customer satisfaction for
    the desired requirements of internal customers.


Job Requirements


  • 6 – 10 years’ progressive financial experience.
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • Intermediate
    to Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience
    with SAP or like ERP system.
  • Direct
    experience in supporting multiple projects related to R&D and Manufacturing
    a plus.
  • Ability
    to work well with different departments within the company
  • Must
    show initiative and good judgment in resolving issues
  • Ability
    to provide professional written and verbal communications to internal and
    external groups
  • Ability
    to work under pressure given time constraints
  • Ability
    to analyze financial data to draw conclusions and drive results
  • Reports directly to Finance Director
  • No Direct Reports
  • Work with all levels of the organization as needed in a supportive,
    effective manner.
  • Occasionally work with tax authorities, Danaher associate, external
    vendors and customers as needed
  • Work effectively with external stakeholders
    in a supportive effective manner.
