In North America, Beckman Coulter spends more than $90 million per year on freight with 50+ different carriers and more than $30 million per year operating multiple warehouses across the United States.  The Operations Finance team is looking for a Finance Manager to oversee the financials of the North America Freight and L&D operations.  This position reports to the Global Finance Director of Freight and L&D. 

The Finance Manager will partner with the North American L&D Leader analyzing Freight and L&D costs to ultimately guide the warehousing and transportation organizations to more efficient operations.  The incumbent ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of financial data; acts as a liaison between the company, freight invoice payment processor and auditors to manage related requests; and ensures proper information is maintained for historical purposes.  This hands-on role requires heavy involvement in the regular weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual accounting and planning functions.

The selected candidate will provide financial management for all North America Freight and L&D operations including:  1) manage freight and L&D department-level annual budgets and monthly forecasts through working with managers of these functions, 2) work directly with freight carriers to determine/record appropriate month-end freight accruals, 3) regular interaction with our freight invoice payment processor and their system to initiate/ensure proper recording of transactions and 4) provide regular reporting/analysis and ad hoc analyses to the North America L&D leadership team.

Job Requirements



  • The ideal candidate is a driven, finance professional with 9+ years Finance/accounting experience (7+ years with Master’s degree), including planning, financial analyses and management reporting within a warehousing and/or transportation environment. 
  • Excellent Communication and Excel skills a must.
  • A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain or other relevant area required. 
  • MBA and/or CPA a plus.
