Description

Purpose of this Position:

 

Provide Finance leadership to Japan operations to develop annual and strategic plans, drive and deliver KPIs and ensure accuracy and predictability of financial results. These are to be achieved through a sound financial management process including timely and regular financial reporting and reviews, financial planning and forecasting, maintenance of internal controls, working capital management and working as a strong business partner to the local GM



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•         Provide decision making and business support to the Japan Country Manager and act as his/her business partner, providing ideas and suggestions to achieve the business goals for the region.

•         Provide leadership in delivering and improving financial results:  Revenue, Operating Profit & Working Capital.

•         Support Country General Manager on annual planning exercise; compile, own and submit annual financial budget and monthly financial forecasts.

•         Leading and supervising local accounting processes in relation to the preparation of financial statements, and ensure compliance with local tax and statutory regulations

•         Leading and supervising Customer Service & Logistics function and processes including procurement planning and material management

•         Manage one PID helpdesk staff who is dotted line reporting IT manager of APACK

•         Responsible for all the legal matters related to local business working with 3rd party legal partner and corporate legal. Owning company seal and responsible for reviewing all legal documents.

•         Own and oversee the preparation and submission of management accounts to corporate and ensure compliance with US GAAP and other Danaher/ Videojet Accounting Policies

•         Perform detailed variance analysis on financial results against forecasts and prior periods to help management understanding root causes of variances and support management in determining actionable countermeasures

•         Maintain a sound business forecast and review process to ensure predictability of financial results

•         Raise early warning signals highlighting business risks and work with GM in identifying countermeasures and opportunities to mitigate those risks

•         Support the business strategy by ensuring the provision of financial & business analysis and acting as a key business partner to the leadership team

•         Managing Working Capital, including but not limited to delivering DSO, AR Past Due %, DPO and Inventory Turns targets

•         Identify and drive initiatives to save costs and manage operating expenses within plan/ budget

•         Implement and continuously improve internal controls that ensure accurate reporting and proper safeguarding of company assets

•         Provide decision making and business support to the India business leaders and act as their business partner, providing ideas and suggestions to achieve the business goals.

•         Support regional compliance team through on-site internal audit of another operating entity in the group

•         Coordinate with other Department heads in meeting organizational goals and objectives

Job Requirements



Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

•         Proven experiences in driving financial results (revenue, costs , margins and OP) in a business of $10 - $40 M size

•         Strong business understanding and acumen

•         Strong  knowledge of Internal Control procedures

•         Excellent knowledge and practical understanding of applicable US GAAP

•         Excellent knowledge of local Japan statutory reporting requirements

•         Proficiency in English and Japanese, with strong written and oral communication skills

•         Independent and strong sense of integrity

•         Can successfully deliver results while quickly adapting to changing priorities and unforeseen challenges

•         Can strive for continuous improvement

•         Passion to win

Education and Experience

•         Local financial accounting degree – college or university level

•         CPA certification or international equivalency preferred

•         Financial Controllership or assistant-to, preferably in an international environment

•         US GAAP experience

•         Highly computer literate (especially in MS Excel) with prior Hyperion knowledge a plus

  Position reports to the Regional Finance Director with dotted line reporting responsibilities to the Country General Manager, Japan
