The Service Engineer is responsible for independently performing preventive maintenance / diagnostic & repairs / upgrades & modifications of Pall’s Filtration, Separation and purification Systems as well as other equipment being maintained by BioPharm PASS Service group. 
He / She will be assigned to multiple projects. 
The Service Engineer will act as “Lead” for Service assignments providing technical advice and solutions to mechanical, electrical & automation contractors and other Pall Staff as required. 
He / She may be required to assist commissioning engineers to start up new systems / machines or any other supporting functions during engineering project realisation. 
These systems / machines are generally integrated into a complete process system utilising tanks, pumps, compressors, drives, automated valves, process + analytical instrumentation interfaced to a PLC based control system with a graphical user interface front end. 
All service activities must be carried out with the consideration of each customers GMP guidelines and GDP standards in order to fulfil the biopharmaceutical industry standards when executing and performing service activities.

Job Requirements


(a) Knowledge & Key Skills:
  • Knowledge of filtration / separation or similar process equipment.
  • Knowledge of chromatography column technology, willingness to familiarize with column technology
  • Knowledge of up stream equipment will be a advantage
  • Ability to work independently, under time pressure and in various environments
(b) Essential Qualifications/Education:
  • Relevant technical apprenticeship or craft equivalent in order to perform a service on a filtration, separation and purification system/equipment in the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Relevant technical qualification to perform the service on the respective equipment/system. Detailed knowledge of apertures, fittings, valves, measuring devices and electrical installation is a must.
  • Cross trained in electrical / instrumentation / mechanical is essential.
  • Engineering degree / Technician degree
  • Fluent in English & French; German, & Russian will be recognized as additional value.
  • Communication skills allowing working in the team (internally as well as with the customer)
(c) Essential Previous Experience:
  • A minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in a service / engineering or similar position within the biopharmaceutical market.
  • Factory test work and/or site work experience.
  • Multi-discipline work experience.
(d) Miscellaneous: 
  • Current driving licence.
  • Passport holder.
  • Ability to travel at short notice – home country and abroad.
  • Able to work away from home for extended durations.
  • Work well alone or as part of a team.
  • Ability to integrate into international teams (Pall and customer), including understanding of cultural differences.
  • Computer literate including email, office applications and general Windows features.
  • Prepared to work in dirty or unpleasant environments.
