Position Summary:

Provide Field, Technical, and customer service to Pall Water products and processes. This is a technical position that requires the ability to safely perform hands on work, process optimization, and maintain high customer satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the activities of the EMEA Services organization, this includes Field Service Organization, Scheduling & Planning (new installs and repairs) and Aftercare (phone support for hardware and software).
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers via phone and email. Provide service reports
  • Coordinating and conducting on-site trials, during which customers evaluate or test continuous bioprocessing technologies provided by Pall.
  • Promote the services that Pall Water offers to our customers, thereby improving system up-time and long term customer satisfaction. Assist in the development of service products to expand the service product portfolio.
  • Safety: Understands and Aligns with company Safety policies and procedures as it relates to field service.
  • Responsible for training customer personnel in the proper operation of the Pall System. Must prepare training materials for various Pall Systems Technologies, including the provision of Standard Service Products relating to the specific technology
  • Responsible for independently identifying, implementing, documenting system modifications, and conveying back to project team. Responsible to also reflect actual installation results versus original design, by marking up engineering drawings and returning to the project team. This also requires in-depth knowledge of customers, vendors, suppliers and contractors, part, equipment, process controls and materials.
  • Responsible for maintaining a positive relationship with customers. While performing service, the field service engineer must make sound technical decisions to meet customer requirements while maintaining Pall’s commercial interests. Independently resolves adverse situation when appropriate, however recognizes and defers to the project manager, service team lead, or service manager when needed.
  • Build design concepts and/or provides review feedback to engineering for user interface and operating system approaches based on user needs from external customers and application scientists.
  • Train customers and/or contracted site personnel in operating the Pall Water System, which can sometimes include preparation of training materials.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of time tracking, service reports, expense reports and other business related documents.
  • Assignments will involve travel to specified sites (both domestic and international) to perform above activities. On occasion, travel may take place on weekends as required to meet the customer’s need. Travel schedules will be arranged as directed by the Regional Field Service Manager (or delegate) and will be in accordance with the Pall/Danaher Travel Policy.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Relevant industry-specific knowledge: This skill involves experience and understanding in Field Service Engineering. Ability to interpret and work effectively to execute all aspects of the commissioning or service event, while maintaining/developing good customer satisfaction
  • Field Service skills: This skill represents the degree of mastery in relevant field service competencies; including process knowledge; PLC and HMI Skills; commissioning skills; and service event capabilities.
  • Quality: The degree and consistency of overall quality of the work produced, including "right first time", and alignment to all relevant procedures and other requirements.
  • Timeliness and reliability: Consistently deliver against defined deadlines. Includes strong time management and task management skills. Shows up to customer site when expected representing Pall Water appropriately.
  • Interpersonal communication: Strong communication skills with both colleagues and customers. Clear and effective communications skills both verbal and written. Includes the ability to maintain a positive attitude.
  • Self-management: The extent to which the individual can successfully lead broader assignments. Includes the ability to effectively communicate status of work and progress against schedule, effectively delegate tasks to others, as well as work directly with suppliers and vendors.
  • Continuous improvement of the function: Furthering the organization by contributions outside of direct engineering work. Leadership and/or participation on teams, demonstrate initiative, and champion change for the better.
  • Problem Solving/Troubleshooting – must have a strong ability to resolve problems
  • Integrity: Acts with integrity and has professional attitude. Actions are always geared towards company's best interest.
  • Associate Degree
  • 6+ years experience.
