As a Field Applications Specialist for the Netherlands, you will be responsible for the applications support of Beckman Coulter Life Science Automation and the Agencourt range of nucleic acid extraction and purification chemistries. The role will involve support for Biomek and Echo Liquid Handlers, Assay Workstations and Industrial Robot systems as well genomics support including implementation of Next Generation Sequencing automation. 

The successful candidate will have European wide responsibility with focus on the Netherlands, so flexibility to support global projects is highly appreciated. You will have a shared sales target for Life Science Automation hardware & consumables and Agencourt products.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide customer satisfaction through complex applications development, troubleshooting and diagnosis on bespoke automated systems. 

  • Participate in implementation of liquid handlers and integrated systems.

  • Capable of providing training and guidance for customers and Beckman Coulter sales/applications specialists

  • Pre-sales responsibilities to include customer demonstration and proactive protocol development

  • Effective written and oral communication with customers and Beckman Coulter staff.

Job Requirements


  • Educated to BSc Standard or equivalent in a Biological or related subject
  • At least one year hands-on experience with Laboratory Automation
  • Background in molecular biology and experience in Next Generation Sequencing is highly desirable
  • Previous experience of technical or application support within a Diagnostic or Life Science Company would be beneficial
  • Previous technical training/ experience within a laboratory setting is highly desirable especially with Laboratory Automation equipment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, and a self-motivated personality, who enjoys working on their own as well as part of a team is crucial in this role.
  • Should possess a full clean driving license. The position is home-based, ideally within the Netherlands and with a good connection to a major airport as the role will require approximately 70% travel.
  • Very good English language skills required, any other language is an advantage
