  • The Event Specialist will work directly with the Americas Marketing Events manager to plan and execute Tradeshows/Conferences/Events and to support the growth of our Mass Spectrometry business in the USA, Canada, and Latin America.

  • The candidate will manage tradeshows, workshops, and offsite events.  Duties include working with marketing communications specialists, sales associates, and exhibit house personnel to determine which booth properties and instruments to send, submitting exhibit applications, ordering show services, arranging food, beverage, and audio visual, managing logistics for offsite events. Candidate will manage budget and inventory of booth properties and display instruments with exhibit house.

  • Candidate should have 3-5 years of experience with planning tradeshows and events.  Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.  Candidate should be creative, multi-tasker, and a solution-oriented thinker possessing strong attention to detail.

  • Manage & execute tradeshow participation (~80% travel) across all market segments (Pharma/CRO, Academic/Omics, Clinical Tox and Food & Environment) to drive lead generation and lead to opportunity conversion.
  • Own logistical efforts for conferences within the Americas (Canada, USA, Latin America) focused on lead generation and brand visibility at the solution level across all market segments 
  • Adhere to the SCIEX Brand Standards and ensure consistency of usage within the Americas

  • Develop, own & execute the regional tradeshows and events calendar. This should be developed in close collaboration with the Events Manager and America’s Marketing/Market Development team.
  • Manage tradeshow and events calendar, events budget, post-event leads management, and general event inventory.
  • Responsible for submitting exhibit applications, managing content requested by conference organizers, ordering show services, managing food/beverage/audio visual requirements with venues/vendors, and any offsite logistics for internal or customer events.
  • Travel (~80%) and support tier 1 and 2 events defined on master America’s events calendar

  • Internal: Market Development Management, Sales, Global Marketing, Field Applications, Creative Services, eBusiness, and Service organizations
  • External: Customers, vendors, partners, other Danaher companies

Job Requirements


  • 3-5 years in event planning, tradeshow experience a very strong plus
  • Certification in event planning/management strongly preferred
  • Experience managing projects from inception to completion, including managing to a timeline.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven, work environments.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. 
  • Proven ability to influence, work, and communicate effectively with peers.
  • BA or BS in marketing or related field considered a plus.
  • Life sciences work experience considered a plus.
