Description

Job Purpose:

Located at the UK or Salzburg Ofiices to manage a specific sales territory and clients within budget constraints to achieve highest possible return on sales costs spent, achieving regional sales target that contributes to the overall corporate sales and strategic objectives. Supervises the daily activities & sets priorities of the NSD, EMEA team to support achievement of assigned targets.

Key Relationships:

Molecular Devices European Order Management, Service and Sales teams, management team and North America Operations teams.  Internal and External stakeholders throughout Molecular Devices (UK) Ltd and the Danaher Corporation.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct Territory Deliverables:

  • Achieve Annual Quota in designated territory.
  • Achieve Monthly Quota in designated territory. 
  • Provide prompt and accurate forecasts as requested.
  • Participate to programmed funnel reviews and marketing reviews when requested.
  • Provide all reports when requested by manager within set timescales/deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain accurate Territory Plan.
  • To identify, qualify, develop, support and close sales of the Molecular Devices system portfolio (Bioresearch = Single Mode Absorbance Plate readers, Threshold Immunoassay System & Axon Instruments and associated software and reagents. Maintain & develop revenue through channel partners. 
  • Prepare and present basic product demonstrations and training to existing and potential customers.
  • Develop, update and maintain to a high degree of accuracy and integrity, the prospect database (SFDC-Salesforce) and existing customer list and monitor sales growth.
  • Achieve assigned sales targets while remaining within the established expense budget and providing customer satisfaction. 
  • Close liaison with the rest of the team to ensure seamless customer support from initial interest to post-sales support.
  • Maintain a high level of technical and application competence of Molecular Devices products. 
  • Monitor competitor’s activities, products, and potential new or improved applications or product extensions. 
  • Evaluate effectiveness of Molecular Devices’ marketing programs. 
  • Provide monthly revenue and product forecasting, quarterly plans of action, status, and expense reports. 
  • Attend trade shows, seminars and workshops as well as maintaining customer contacts to develop and improve sales skills.  
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Takes responsibility for own personal development and knowing about the market and competition.
  • Is aware of Health and Safety and conducts self in a way that does not put him/herself or any other person at risk. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Initiates and participates in the thoughtful use of DBS tools.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree

Experience:

  • Proven ability to provide excellent customer relationships, whilst maintaining a high degree of sales focus.
  • Experience via telesales or face to face of promoting and selling scientific equipment and or complex products in a professional and intellectual market.

Skills:

  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in areas of building relationships, persuasion and research.
  • Good working knowledge of CRM and MS Office including word and excel required.
  • Be self-motivated with demonstrative interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • A positive outlook and resilience.
  • Ability to work in a constructive way with colleagues.
  • Ability to conduct sales conversations in English and German is essential.

Measures of performance:

  • Achieve assigned sales target for the territory 
  • Maintenance of the CRM.
  • Understanding & achievement of key performance indicators required to maintain business as targeted levels. 
  • Achievement of the key performance indicators of the lead handling process.
