We're seeking an experienced engineering leader who leads and directs a group of electrical and test engineers responsible for engineering deliverables in support of projects through technical guidance, functional development and career development.

  • Evaluates Test and Electrical engineering talent through organizational reviews, performance reviews, development plans, merit recommendations and capacity planning.
  • Ensures compliance to electrical and test design processes and best practices.
  • Ensures teams are considering the use of leading edge technology and keeping pace with revolutionary and innovative trends in their fields.
  • Facilitates cross functional reviews for Low, Medium & High-Fidelity designs.
  • Collaborates across global development sites to ensure that the teams are leveraging common technologies across Hach.
  • Reviews architectures and designs as needed to ensure adherence to good design practices.
  • Communicates and implements business vision and strategies into the team by linking strategy to specific functional responsibilities through electrical and test engineering roadmaps and regular staff communications
  • Influences others within the organization to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches.
  • Identifies problems, updates or modifies working methods that may be complex in their work area without the benefit of defined procedures.
  • Ensures work load is balanced for associates between project and functional commitments. 
  • Sets individual employee and team objectives in partnership with other R&D leaders.
  • Thorough understanding of fundamental principals involved in engineering principles.
  • Technical depth and ability to provide technical alternatives to facilitate business trade off discussions.
  • Observes and steps up to remove roadblocks and resolve potential issues.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of administrative and engineering systems and tools used by work team and those who interface with work team.
  • Skilled in estimating work efforts and coaching others on accurate estimating.

Job Requirements


  • Candidate must have a BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related field
  • Candidate must possess a minimum of 7 or more years of directly relevant progressive experience in board level electrical design.
  • Candidate must have direct experience leading Electrical and/or Test System Design and implementation
  • Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership capacity where the candidate is managing other associates work. 
  • Candidate must have demonstrated capability leading cross functional initiatives with associates outside their scope of authority and leading through others.
  • Candidate must have a strong working knowledge of mixed signal electronics.
  • Candidate must have a working knowledge of LEAN Principles.
