Position Summary 
The Videojet & PID Global HSE Director plans, directs, and implements environmental, health and safety (EHS) programs to ensure compliance, reduce risk, and identify and resolve EHS program gaps and deficiencies and has global responsibility for developing EHS management strategies and directing EHS resources across Videojet & PID Opco’s operating companies. The scope of this role covers 15 Manufacturing Sites, 20 Regional Sales, Service & Warehouse facilities, and c. 6000 Associates, inclusive of c.2000 field based Sales & Service Associates. 

Duties and Responsibilities
• Plans, develops and implements an EHS management strategy, and EHS programs, policies and procedures for Videojet & PID Opco’s globally that ensures full compliance with applicable laws, regulations and customer requirements. Ensures that standard work exists for the management and preparation and submission of environmental reports in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and customer requirements.
• Assists leadership in assessing EHS-related business risks, and establishing annual EHS targets for the manufacturing, field service and research & development and sales office locations. Analyzes performance, sets strategies, and leads development and implementation of action plans for year over year improvement.
• Provides oversight for the various worker’s compensation programs.
• Leads a global, facility EHS review process to help management detect accident/health hazards and determine corrective or preventative measures and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented and are producing the desired results.
• Provides leadership in the investigation of serious accidents and injuries and ensures that local resources fully cooperate in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.
• Compiles and submits Global KPIs & Stats on HSE events and provides updates on the progress towards EHS targets, on site EHS activities, and any agency/regulatory inspections/violations.  
• Participates in PD, Strategic Planning, and capital and operating budget setting activities.
• Assesses and cost-effectively manages EHS-related risks with the long-term objective to eliminate hazards and further reduce risk across our global operations.
• Uses Danaher Business Systems methods to embed EHS best practices into daily management.
• Ensures that the HSE Team globally remains up-to-date and conversant with relevant laws, regulations and other statutory requirements that impact EHS across their local areas of responsibility.
• Coordinates with regulatory agencies, customers and industry groups to ensure that Videojet & PID Opco’s remain at the forefront of EHS trends within the Fuel Solutions industry.
• Manages all Opco, Danaher and external EHS audits of Videojet & PID Opco’s Globally (e.g. FM Global), develop action plans to resolve findings, and implement countermeasures promptly and effectively.
• Serves as the Videojet & PID Opco’s Global contact for relevant government agencies, the Danaher point of contact for Videojet & PID Opco’s, and the Videojet & PID Opco’s representative on the Danaher EHS Operations Leadership Council (“EHSOLC”).
• Provides leadership on EHS issues within the Videojet & PID Opco’s, assist Videojet & PID Opco’s top management in understanding business impacts of EHS issues thereby enabling prudent allocation of resources and decision-making and assist them in Identifying and implements corrective measures to improve each site’s EHS performance against goals.
• Acts as mentor to associates with EHS responsibilities at Videojet & PID Opco’s facilities, evaluates performance and provides input to performance appraisals and skills development plans for these associates.

Job Requirements


Background and Skills
• The successful candidate will have a proven track record of driving the EHS agenda in a multi-site, global manufacturing organization, and must possess the ability to engage the workforce at all levels in the journey to build a strong EHS culture and a collaborative team-oriented approach to EHS management across the business.
• Candidates must have broad EHS experience, including working-level subject matter expertise, project/process leadership and department or functional area management. 
• Candidates should be degree qualified, ideally in science or engineering, but will require strong operational and commercial experience, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels within the organization. 
• EHS-related licenses, certifications and/or membership in EHS professional associations are desired. Experience with Mergers and Acquisitions (due diligence and integration) and risk and liability management. Must be able to view issues in a systematic and logical way.
• Personally well-organized and have an appreciation of the need for meticulous detail and accuracy.  
• An ability to work under own initiative is important as is the ability to prioritise multiple workloads and tasks whilst still meeting timelines.
• Tenacious and able to work in a high intensity ever changing working environment.
• Results oriented; thrives in a culture that values individual initiative, yet expects teamwork and collaboration; comfortable with an organization that lacks strictly-defined functional department boundaries, detailed procedures, and a comprehensive information technology infrastructure.
