Description

This person is responsible for driving continuous improvement in our quality management system and insuring we meet or exceed all local, state and federal regulatory guidelines and make improvements in workplace safety supporting the Sunnyvale Quality and EHS Department by providing efficiency and organization to the business and acts as a liaison to company personnel, clients and vendors

Responsibilities:
• Committed to building and maintaining a world class environmental, health and safety culture.
• Coordinate deployment of processes to maintain compliance of all legal, corporate policy, procedures and initiatives; Research new or existing laws, rules, and regulations and make recommendations regarding appropriate actions.
• Coordinate daily management of EHS activities across the site. Be a champion of driving improvements and ensuring sustainment.
• Maintain standard work to support site operations; Manage and deliver training to ensure compliance and build functional competency.
• Provide support and leadership in the coordination and management of the safety incident management system; Facilitate incident investigation process. Conduct accident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate safety activities, i.e., monthly audits, monthly meetings, and publishing/posting of metrics.
• Manage/maintain safety, first aid, spill kit, and protective equipment supplies; site contact for waste management.
• Be the point of contact for Environmental and Safety calls in the absence of the EHS Director.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Qualifications:
Education or certifications that are essential to this role:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health & Safety or equivalent field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years experience with EHS.
• Shown ability to maintain compliance with OSHA, CalOSHA, AQMD, DTSC and EPA regulations.
• Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Office.
• HAZWOPER certified preferred.

• Strong teamwork, analysis, judgment and understanding on Root Cause Analysis.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously as well as one’s own time.
• Maintains professionalism and a positive attitude while working in a fast-paced environment.
• Emergency Response experience; Knowledge of incident command systems; Calm demeanor in emergency situations.
