Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Lead and drive the EHS program at the London, ON facility of Trojan Technologies. Scope of accountability includes: EHS management, emergency preparedness & planning, safety, occupational health & industrial hygiene and environmental. 

ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • EHS Leadership 
    • Provide leadership in/to joint health & safety committee, management of change process, kamishibai and 5s, 4e hazard control and risk reduction, safety metric tracking (daily and monthly), orientation and training, regulatory compliance (inspections, submissions); 
    • Maintain compliance calendar;
    • Generate hazard reports and EHS alerts;
    • Lead regular audits and site inspections
    • Deliver regular EHS awareness communications
  • Emergency preparedness & planning
    • Provide expertise, plan, oversee and improve the following safety programs:
      • Fire prevention & protection
      • Emergency planning & response
      • Medical preparedness & response
  • Safety 
    • Provide expertise, plan, oversee and improve the following safety programs: 
    • Confined space
    • Contractor management
    • Driver and pedestrian safety
    • Electrical and arc flash safety 
    • Equipment safety & guarding
    • Hazardous materials handling
    • High risk operations
    • 5s, storage racks
    • Incident & injury tracking and reporting
    • Lock out tag out
    • Permits (health & safety) 
    • Signage & warnings
    • Walking & working surfaces 
  • Occupational health/industrial hygiene
    • Provide expertise, plan, oversee and improve the following OH/IH programs:
      • Asbestos & materials management
      • Biologicals/chemicals management & exposire
      • Ergonomics
      • Hazard communication
      • Hearing conservation
      • Health promotion
      • Medical surveillance
      • Personal protective equipment
      • Respirators 
      • Ventilation
  • Environment
    • Provide expertise, plan, oversee and improve the following environmental programs: 
      • Air programs
      • Chemical management
      • Energy & resource management
      • Noise, odors & community impact
      • Environmental permits
      • Waste management
      • Water management

Job Requirements



Qualifications

  • CRSP designation (or enrolled in program)
  • Post-Secondary Education in EHS, Manufacturing Engineering or Quality Assurance
  • 5-10 years experience
  • Thorough working knowledge of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001
  • Ability to travel internationally as required
