Description

The Distribution Supervisor leads the day-to-day operations and develops their team of associates for fast-paced daily distribution operations. The incumbent analyzes and implements distribution strategies to support customer expectations including on time delivery, quality, productivity and various other key performance indicators for the functional areas. The selected candidate will develop, lead and implement process improvement projects; and practices Lean and Six Sigma principles to achieve established goals and objectives. The selected candidate will drive productivity, quality and efficiency through data-driven decisions and analytical problem-solving methodology.  

The Supervisor; Distribution is responsible for:
  • Supporting the Distribution Team through collaboration to distribute quality products to meet customer expectations.
  • Fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, quality, and customer satisfaction in a Lean environment.
  • Supporting all safety programs and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all associates.
  • Coordinating with other Supervisors to build and execute productivity plans by reviewing work volume forecasts, determining productivity requirements and partnering to balance labor across the facility.            
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable Federal and International agencies
  • Fostering a culture that utilizes Lean principles & methods to increase productivity & eliminate waste.
  • Communicating policies to associates and act as the primary information source for the team, maintaining compliance and consistency and taking corrective action when required
  • Performing root cause analysis using the problem solving process and 5 Why’s to develop a logical solution
  • Providing performance feedback and development opportunities to direct reports.
  • Occasional travel to other Beckman Coulter facilities, and/or attending outside training as needed for career development.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years’ experience leading a team of 15-35 associates in a warehouse environment. 
  • Prior knowledge and experience in ISO Federal Agency compliance regulations
  • Experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) preferably Oracle
  • Intermediate to Expert skills with Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Lean/Six Sigma experience in a Continuous Improvement Environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment with little support or guidance 
  • Self-starter with the ability to motivate and develop their associates
