Description

Key Responsibilities:



• Hires, develops and manages field reimbursement staff


• Identifies & develops business relationships with Medical Directors & staff at selected payers


• Works with Reimbursement Strategists to draft initial US reimbursement tactical plans, identify evidence needs with HEOR staff, and collaboratively creates documents and tools required for the presentation of Evidence Dossiers to achieve Payer medical coverage on Novel Products or reverse pending non-coverage policy decisions current products across the DHR Platform of Dx companies in a manner compliant with all relevant Federal and State Regulations


• Drive coordination of Payer Relations staff and with other members of DHR Market Access, Medical Affairs, Scientific Affairs, and Operating Company Sales Unit Marketing/Sales teams to leverage laboratory and clinical professional societies, plus utilizing provider or patient advocacy relations with strategist to influence payer medical policy coverage development, and Healthcare Provider support for appealing claim denials


• Builds and improves processes that enable Field Reimbursement/Payer Relations staff to contribute to internal Market Access cross-functional teams, and to enable efficient field reimbursement activities


• Creates Visual Management metrics and establishes Daily Management and other appropriate Danaher Business System  tools to communicate field reimbursement implementation and progress to Market Access Policy/Strategist

Qualifications

Educational & Related Experience Requirements



• Master’s in public health or related science field, MD, PhD, RN, PharmD preferred with 18+ years , or Bachelor degree required with 20+ years of experience in medical field, medical policy, and Medical Insurance with 6+ years managing people


• Experience in Medical Laboratory Diagnostics a plus


• Experience in Industry/manufacturer  a plus


• Experience in medical insurance or billing intermediaries a plus  



Other Qualifications:



• Proven track record for hiring, develop and managing staff for excellent cross-functional collaboration in a team environment


• Demonstrated experience in driving original techniques and processes to advance product utilization and medical policy issues at all payers


• Capable of applying an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness to develop and/or apply highly advanced policy concepts and issues, simplifying them into principles, and communicating back to internal market access teams, and product line leadership, the impacts on new and existing products across multiple OpCos and functions


• Experience in interfacing with external leadership and staff at commercial insurers, federal/state agencies, advocacy groups


• Works independently to take on initiatives that can influence favorable medical payment policy for diagnostic products which can be influential towards long-term success of the OpCos


• Solid knowledge of medical coding and billing systems in Medical Diagnostics (Clinical & Anatomical) Labs


• Consultant to top management in OpCos on Payer policy matters in conjunction with strategists


• Exceptional oral & written communication skills complimented by presentation skills


• Works with diplomacy and integrity in engaging public and private payers.
