Description

The Director of Service Portfolio has overall service commercial business responsibility for customer instrument life cycle. The Director of Service Portfolio is responsible for developing and ensuring success of new, differentiating, innovative service products for the repair, aftermarket and professional service business whilst maximizing the revenue from the existing service products. This commercially focused position involves close interaction with development leads, product architects, Global and regional service market development managers and key customers.



 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Define the instrument life cycle service strategy and create strategic service product roadmaps
  • Identify, prioritize, design and manage the delivery of commercial projects based on impact to overall service business
  • Develop and champion service requirements and justifications for new service products and service offerings coupled to hardware
  • Lead, project manage the development and launch of service product solution
  • Sets and maintains pricing, manages/improves profit margins for service products
  • Maintain a status dashboard for all portfolio product funnel and launch Management


Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Provides training and expert advice to service sales, service management, customers and other field employees on Service products as required
  • Reviews Price erosion analysis (erosion/gain and new pricing) and works with regions to improve the pricing
  • Identify product/customer references for industry and customer referrals
  • Develop product positioning and value statements for all market, buyers and for new service products

Qualifications

Job Skills:
  • Demonstrated ability in developing and  planning of go to market strategies and  strategic thinking
  • Strong analytical skills to assess and prioritize service and market Needs
  • Effective communicator with ability to influence people directly and remotely
  • Clear thinker with experience in product positioning, market sizing, segmentation and Analysis
     



Job Knowledge:

  • Extensive knowledge of mass spectrometry technology and market place
  • In depth knowledge of service business
  • Project Management and strategic planning
  • High level computer knowledge
     



Additional Job Abilities:

  • Requires the ability to perform independently and as part of a Team
  • Must be able to travel globally
  • Ability to instill customer satisfaction that is recognizable and valuable to the customer
     


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in Life Sciences, Engineering, Marketing or equivalent experience
  • Requires at least  2-3 years of experience in the analytical  instrumentation  field
  • Experience in direct sales, product development, strategic planning, and implementation preferred.
  • Marketing background a plus
