    The Director – IT Global Business Services – Finance will be responsible for leading the team supporting Cepheid’s Finance organization with IT solutions, leveraging business and systems expertise to support, design, and implement existing and new business functionalities in Cepheid’s SAP systems and related third party systems.

    This role is expected to act as a strategic partner to Finance executives, in both the Accounting and Financial Planning and Analysis functions, and collaborate with them to develop and implement IT solutions roadmaps that enable business objectives. This role will drive the assessment, prioritization and execution of enhancement projects, directly manage and deliver some of those projects, and lead an internal team of SAP professionals as well as external consultants to deliver high quality solutions.

    Overview:

    The Director – IT Global Business Services – Finance will be responsible for leading the team supporting Cepheid’s Finance organization with IT solutions, leveraging business and systems expertise to support, design, and implement existing and new business functionalities in Cepheid’s SAP systems and related third party systems.

    This role is expected to act as a strategic partner to Finance executives, in both the Accounting and Financial Planning and Analysis functions, and collaborate with them to develop and implement  IT solutions roadmaps that enable business objectives. This role will drive the assessment,  prioritization and execution of enhancement projects, directly manage and deliver some of those projects, and lead an internal team of SAP professionals as well as external consultants to deliver high quality solutions.


    Responsibilities:

    • Establish relationships with senior Finance executives to understand their goals and the business capabilities they require
    • Develop and communicate IT solutions roadmap to address those business needs, in alignment with the overall IT Enterprise Architecture guidelines
    • In collaboration with Finance management, lead the  process of getting new requests for IT solutions assessed and prioritized
    • Accountable for successful delivery of all Finance IT projects
    • Manage projects through their complete lifecycle, from initial requirements gathering, through design, to implementation
    • Hands-on design, configuration and delivery of solutions for some projects
    • Lead the internal team of SAP FICO professionals, providing supervision and coaching to continuously develop the capabilities of the team and its ability to deliver business value
    • Manage external providers to deliver on committed SLAs for application support and projects
    • Evaluate, select and manage new vendors (applications or consulting) when needed to support requirements not covered by existing partners
    • Collaborate with other IT functions to ensure solutions are well designed, integrated and aligned with other functions’ IT roadmaps
    • Promote the use of robust project portfolio and project management methodologies
    • Regularly communicate project status and progress against roadmaps to Finance stakeholders
  • Job Requirements



    Qualifications

    • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field
    • 12 + years of experience in the technology profession focused on ERP design and management
    • 10+ years of SAP FICO configuration and implementation experience
    • 5+ years supporting the Finance function in a global manufacturing company
    • 4+ years in a supervisory role, managing a team of SAP professionals
    • Expertise in FI and CO modules, with strong understanding of the integration with other ECC modules (especially SD, MM and PP)
    • Experience with Financial Planning and Reporting processes and systems
    • Experience in working with 3rd party Finance applications integrated to SAP (tax software, A/P or A/R automation, expense management,  etc.)
    • Understanding of key new accounting regulations and how they can be supported through IT solutions
    • Experience in implementing large, global and complex SAP projects
    • Experience in working with senior Finance executives and managers to understand business requirement and design roadmaps and solutions to meet those needs
    • Experience leading and delivering projects through structured project management methodologies
    • Ability to provide cross-functional leadership to ensure project objectives and deadlines are met
    • Ability to identify, clarify and resolve project issues and risks as needed.
    • Good analytical problem solving and fact finding skills
    • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills

    Preferred Qualifications: 

    • Background in life sciences industry is preferred.
    • PMP certification preferred
    • Certification in SAP FICO module is preferred. 
    • Experience with SAP BPC and COPA is preferred
