Strategic Human Resource Business Partner to Pall’s Chief Technology Officer (over 300 Scientists, Engineers, and Researchers in 4 countries) and to Pall’s Chief Counsel & Compliance Officer (50 Lawyers and Legal support associates in 5 countries).  This role provides expert partnership to the business leaders in support of their strategic priorities and business needs ensuring effective human resource strategies to attract, engage, develop and retain talent. This consultative business partner supports the R&D engine driving Pall’s leadership in filtration & separation as well as the legal teams leading Palls commitment to compliance and the protection of intellectual property This role is based in Port Washington a village on Long Island Sound about 20 miles outside of New York City.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Functions as a business partner with leadership teams to develop and execute critical business and organizational strategies.
  • Develops and executes talent strategies for these global businesses inclusive of growth initiatives, leadership development, acquisition of early talent and diversity and inclusion.
  • Collaborates with leaders to build and support employee engagement strategies that facilitate organizational performance and enables successful organizational change.
  • Partners with business leaders on initiatives that engage associates and promote retention of key talent.  Understands associate needs and facilitates effective communication channels between leaders and associates.  Sponsors and drives events and programs designed to increase employee engagement. 
  • Champions the company’s values and culture partnering with business leaders, Center of Excellence leaders, and HR Business Partners to drive high quality execution of programs such as succession planning, talent acquisition, talent development, compensation planning, performance management, and engagement.
  • Manages special HR projects to achieve desired outcomes and participates on project teams as assigned.
  • Consults with process owners to explore opportunities to optimize activities utilizing continuous improvement processes (Transactional Process Improvement, Problem Solving Process, Value Stream Mapping, etc.). Acts as a change leader for improvements.
  • Ensures company policies are communicated clearly and administered in compliance with all labor laws and reporting requirements of the countries supported.
    Acts as point of escalation on elevated human resources.

Job Requirements


Basic Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related discipline. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8-10 years of HR experience, with at least 7 years of focusing on business partnering, succession planning, engagement, leadership development, diversity, organizational development and coaching.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Broad understanding of the technical and functional components of human resources, including: talent acquisition, talent management, organizational design/development, succession planning, leadership development, compensation; compliance; planning; M&A due diligence and integration, employee communications; training and development and employee relations.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and relevant institutions, including EEOC, ADEA, ERISA, ADA, FMLA and FLSA.
  • Technical proficiency in HR processes.
  • Business Knowledge – includes value added perspective of Research & Development organizations, financial awareness and cost control, industry knowledge, strategic focus, diverse business experience.
Position Competencies:
  • Proven strategic human resource business partner, with an excellent sense of scientific, laboratory, program management, as well as compliance activities and an appreciation for the interplay between the functional groups.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence teams and individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Minimum of 5 years working effectively in diverse global environments. 
  • Independent, self-starter – able to set agenda and drive progress with little direction.
  • Prior experience managing significant change/project initiatives including change management experience. Experience with lean / continuous improvement is a plus.
  • Critical thinking and decision-making, analytical problem solving, business astuteness, and process orientation.
  • Proven ability to recruit, train, and motivate employees to balance staffing strength and develop future leaders.
  • Results oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office products:  PowerPoint; Excel, Word.
  • Experience with HR Information Systems.
