Position Summary

The Director of Global Commercial Operations is a new leadership position within OTT HydroMet and will be a key driver of commercial insight, delivery and productivity. This critical leader will drive improvements and increase the impact of several commercial processes and tools including: reporting, forecasting, use of Sales, setting targets for incentive compensation plans, sales footprint optimization and field sales support. Initially, this role will report directly to the President of OTT HydroMet. 

Essential Functions

Provide leadership and drive cross-functional alignment to deliver company objectives, including but not limited to:
  • Build and develop a highly-engaged, high-performing, growth-oriented organization
  • Ensure the team is doing the rights things (focusing on the critical few) and doing things right (leveraging DBS and best demonstrated practices)
  • Motivate associates to perform at their highest levels
  • Develop talent, future leaders and successors within the commercial operations organization 
  • Provide direct supervision and management, initially for a team of 3-5 associates with plans for significantly expanded team size within 6-9 months 
Commercial Insight and Delivery
  • Design and implement processes and tools for timely, accurate and actionable business insight to understand the drivers of past performance and prepare data-driven future forecasts
  • Improve and standardize effective use of by our sales associates and the business insights generated by data
  • Identify the risks & opportunities for delivering our forecasted growth and partner with sales, marketingand & operations leaders to ensure we deliver on our commitments
  • Lead or actively participate in commercial problem solving teams as necessary 
  • Prepare and deliver materials to communicate past performance and future outlook to President, CFO, Danaher Group Executive and Group CFO during forecast calls and business reviews 
Commercial Productivity
  • Identify and propose improvements to maximize commercial productivity, including but not limited to scale efficiencies through centralized support specialists, increasing selling time through decentralized field sellers & better call-point efficiencies through multi-channel model
  • Lead change management process to build organizational understanding of proposed changes, establish support from key leadership stakeholders, and effectively drive implementation
  • Serve as a champion and role model for continuous improvement across the commercial teams

Job Requirements


  • Four-year college degree from an accredited institution required; Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 5 years with relevant commercial management experience required
  • Ambition and capacity for an expanded leadership role within 12-24 months

  • Significant experience with financial/data modeling, KPI measurement and business analytics; understands how to turn data into actionable information for important business decisions
  • Successfully solves complex commercial problems
  • Languages: English required, second language is a plus with preference for German 
  • Travel: Up to 35% including international travel
