The Financial Controller for Global Operations plays a key role in helping achieve strategic objectives for our global manufacturing operations.  The Controller will be responsible for leading all aspects of the manufacturing financial activities, including general accounting,  cost accounting, financial analysis, internal  control on manufacturing sites & audit, and regulatory compliance. This leadership position requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent analytical, planning, evaluation, and implementation skills. The Financial Controller will also establish and implement policies and procedures to identify, resolve, and document accounting issues in addition to providing direction and strategic support to make the reporting processes more efficient and accurate.
The financial controller will drive a culture continuous improvement within manufacturing finance function and support that culture at all manufacturing locations, providing assistance and direction as required to constantly improve effectiveness and overall performance.  
  • Partner with VP of Global Ops to assess the business requirements and design and implement global manufacturing footprint strategy to support the growth of Molecular Devices.
  • Provide strategic input and insight to drive operations efficiency and savings.
  • Responsible for directing the Global Manufacturing Finance and Accounting functions for Molecular Devices.
  • Lead the standard pricing management, standard cost annual roll, annual plant budgeting and forecasting process, analysis and interpretation of operating statistics and accounting information in order to appraise operating results and performance against budget.
  • Preparation of financial reports and presentation of findings and recommendations, including lead monthly financial reporting for plant legal entities.
  • Develop/maintain set of efficient and effective financial policies and procedures for all manufacturing sites.
  • Recruit and develop a world class manufacturing finance team.  

Job Requirements


  • Accounting/Finance degree, CPA preferred, US GAAP and SOX knowledge required.
  • 15+  years of relevant financial management experience, with 10+ years in manufacturing finance with global exposure.
  • A positive and ethical role model, with strong influencing skills
  • Results oriented; high business acumen/strategic orientation,  influence leadership, change leadership – driving a change to execution in a “noiseless” way
  • Recent experience leading and supporting cross-functional teams and initiatives 
  • Strong business acumen, including the ability to partner and communicate effectively with line management and other Danaher operating businesses, as needed.
  • Previous experience with Oracle Financial system and HFM planning system preferred 
  • A team player with a balanced ego. Must be approachable by any employee in the Company.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead an organization through major changes without losing momentum. The ability to inspire continuous focus on key business drivers, as well as the Company’s mission/values.
