Description

Danaher is looking for a senior Corporate Development professional to help build out in-organically its $17B business.  With a strong deal reputation (15-20 deals/yr), $3B+ in annual cash flow, and material debt capacity, Danaher is poised to invest to win via further acquisitions, divestitures, equity investments, & JV’s.

Key objectives
  • Identify, cultivate, perform diligence, value, structure and negotiate deals across Danaher’s platforms
  • Act as “deal quarterback” simultaneously advising and driving deal teams of subject matter experts from Corporate and operating companies to complete required work and reach investment recommendations
  • Monitor competitive landscape to identify and prioritize opportunities, including tracking public companies and interacting with investment bankers and other sources of deal opportunities
  • Manage cross-functional due diligence teams with a hands-on, team-oriented approach
  • Ensure effective management of post-closing deal terms and hand-off to integration teams

Qualifications

Background/Experience
  • 5+ years M&A transaction experience at top-tier corporation, PE firm, law firm or investment bank
  • BS or BA required. Top tier MBA or JD strongly preferred
  • Cross-functional experience in acct/finance, legal, ops, tax of M&A strongly preferred
  • International deal and/or venture capital experience viewed positively but not necessary
  • Experience in continuous improvement cultures or life sciences/diagnostics considered a plus

  • Demonstrate presence, credibility, integrity and trustworthiness in highly confidential situations
  • Build, critique, and refine financial models with strong financial, quantitative and analytical skills
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and interact at multiple levels both inside and outside Danaher
  • Exemplify humility in leading teams to difficult goals, with an apolitical and non-bureaucratic approach 
  • Be able to work in tactical and strategic realms, addressing commercial, financial risk and legal issues
  • Prioritize effectively in real time, multi-task on several projects and have strong organization skills
  • Be familiar with typical legal & economic deal terms and alternative approaches to risk allocation
  • Participate in spirited give-and-take discussions about his/her work and have a thick skin
  • Be willing and able to travel as required, including on short notice
