Description

The Development Scientist II, Cell Culture performs studies in support of the development, evolution and optimization of assay(s) within well-defined boundary conditions and timelines; performs and summarizes experiments independently; participates in identifying technical issues and assisting in their resolution; maintains well-organized laboratory notebooks in compliance with relevant procedures; supports departmental technical infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
-Perform cell culture studies required for the development, improvement, or sustainment of immunoassays for current and emerging products;
-Perform experiments to generate, cultivate, and characterize cell lines used to produce proteins with clinical utility for use in immunoassays;
-Work within a project team and take direction from a project leader or senior scientist;
-Document and present studies performed and conclusions in accordance with established best practices;
-Willingness to work in an ISO9000/FDA regulated environment.

Job Requirements



Qualifications

-Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience or Master’s degree with 0-2+ years experience
-Candidates must have training in the life sciences (e.g. biology, biochemistry, microbiology, or medical related sciences) with demonstrated cell culture ability, including asceptic techniques and strong attention to detail;
-Experience working within cross-functional teams;
-Experience with molecular biology techniques is a plus;
-Working knowledge of statistical methods and design of experiments is also a plus.
