The Assay Development department designs, characterizes, and verifies new technologies for the diagnostic market. Teams in this department work together to integrate customer needs into the development process. Operators plan and perform experimental studies and evaluate the results toward this goal. In addition, associates support technologies post-launch to resolve performance issues and maintain the health of products in the field.
This individual will be responsible for completing assignments requiring independent thought, judgment, and initiative. Individual should require a limited degree of supervision for routine work and general instructions, with supervision, on new assignments. Individual should be able to assists in developing new techniques and procedures that lead to greater departmental efficiency. All work must also meet regulatory requirements and follow company policies and procedures.  Willingness to work in an ISO9000/FDA regulated environment
Specific responsibilities include participating in development and commercialization of immunoassays for an automated system. Independently analyze simple experimental data as well as provide and present conclusions. Participate in verification and validation of new and modified product designs. As needed, participate in departmental operations support including material inventory tracking, instrument maintenance, and general laboratory maintenance. Responsible for documentation of studies performed; includes materials, methods, and conclusions
Applicant must have considerable knowledge of good laboratory practices and scientific methods. Applicant must have the ability to use education (in accordance with company policies and procedures) to complete complex activities in creative and efficient ways. Applicants must be able to clearly articulate issues that may arise during daily activities and communicate progress to direct supervisor and peers. Applicants should also have relevant laboratory work experience to help them in the daily execution of activities.

Job Requirements


Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology or Biochemistry with 0-2 years of experience working in a laboratory, and developing amino assays and in a regulatory environment.
