Design Engineer Manager

Position Objective:
Leadership and Management of the Design Engineering Teams with focus to ensure all necessary activities required for the projects are provided in accordance to the main key performance indicators (on time, within budget and according to specification). Work in close cooperation with the project managers, process engineers, and commercial organization to provide timely support. 

Primary Responsibilities:
• Responsible for key performance indicators for Design organizations. Safety, Meeting Specifications (Quality) On-Time delivery, and budget.
• Provide daily direction to the Design organizations within the PASS Americas organization.
• Ensure performance management and coaching is part of the daily routine.
• Drive use of Danaher Business System tools within the Design organizations, including but not limited to Daily management, Kaizen, PSP, and TPI.
• High level understanding of design engineering requirements to determine resources needed to execute on customer projects and standard system requirements. 
• Understanding of the engineering processes and quality management system processes, to ensure compliance to ISO regulations. 
• Attend project design review meetings and provide constructive feedback 
• Ability to understand Component Lists, Electrical Schematics, P&ID’s (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams), Fabrication Drawings, Piping Isometrics and General Arrangement Drawings.
• Ability to work with a technical staff and customers with varying experience levels.
• Initiate Value Add and Value Engineering (VAVE) cost saving design projects and other continuous improvement projects. 

Job Requirements


Basic Qualifications:
• Post Graduate Degree, Degree, or Higher Level Qualification in a relevant mechanical/process engineering. 
8 years experience in the following areas:
• Working knowledge of skid fabrication/manufacturing qualification     
                and process equipment. 
• Knowledge and understanding of the current industry guidelines for 
                designing, manufacturing, testing and documenting  
                biopharmaceutical process equipment. (ASME BPE, GAMP, cGMP, 
                ISPE, etc.)
• Basic understanding of filtration separation and purification  
                technologies used in the downstream processing (Direct flow  
                filtration,  tangential flow filtration, chromatography)
• Systematic approach of working.
• Autocad 2015, Autocad, Electrical 2015, Autodesk Inventor 2015, 
                Autodesk Inventor 2018, Solidworks
• NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NFPA 79, UL-508A
• Ability to operate in a project and production based organization with strict  
        timelines and frequent priority changes.
• Able to support the production process.

Preferred Qualifications:
• 10 years of experience working in a cGMP environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and self-organizational                talent.
• Analytical thinking – strong problem solving skills.
• Team Player – able to motivate people within a challenging, or high  
         pressure environment
