JOB SUMMARY: Perform basic case related tasks. Actively support all safety aspects of job duties and standard operating procedures. Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Work under immediate supervision of the Manager, Custom Direct or other senior department member(s). Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.


  1. Accurately enter laboratory cases into production appropriate software.
  2. Scan laboratory cases to ready for design.
  3. Design simple bar and/or abutment cases using dental CAD software.
  4. Communicate with technical team regarding the design details of dental cases.
  5. Input and maintain laboratory case management and product design output into tracking system.
  6. Act as back-up for sub-assembly, packaging and shipping of the dental cases.
  7. Ability to do essential laboratory work to assist on processing of Computer Aided Machined (CAM) products.
  8. Polish bars and/or abutments as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED required. Requires six months of dental technology training or equivalent knowledge. Experience working in a dental lab preferred. Knowledge of CAD software preferred.

  Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as operating procedures, general instructions, technical brochures, safety rules, employee handbook, company policies, departmental procedures, etc.  Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively, present information and respond to questions from coworkers, management and customers while maintaining a high level of professionalism. 

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out detailed written and/or oral instructions. Ability to quickly assess large amounts of information and data. Certain qualities, including self-confidence, motivation, decisiveness, and flexibility, as well as the ability to apply sound business judgment are important. 


  • Basic MS Word and Excel skills required.  Working knowledge of Google Enterprise a plus.
  • Good communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Support team environment and all production related activities.
  • Basic knowledge of dental terminology pertaining to CAD laboratory procedures.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects. The employees frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear and will occasionally be required to bend, stoop, kneel and climb stairs.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
