Beckman Coulter Life Science is seeking a talented & dynamic individual to fill the position of DBS Leader for the Global Service organization. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast growing organization. The DBS Leader is responsible for utilizing the Danaher Business System (DBS) to develop robust commercial and transactional processes and rapid, effective mitigation of problems/issues.  The main focus area will be Service Commercialization and Service Growth.  Other areas of impact include Sales, Finance, HR, Product Management, Business Development and others as determined by business needs.

Work with global service commercial and transactional leaders to meet business objectives and improve functional efficiency, productivity and growth.

Provide coaching and guidance in the implementation of DBS processes and tools.

Monitor and assess current quality performance to identify and assess opportunities for performance and process improvements. 

Proactively lead root cause/countermeasure resolution of commercial and transactional performance issues.

Lead cross-functional, cross-regional teams effectively and drive results.

Drive ever-improving results by leveraging DBS tools, consulting skills, and change management process.

Support Beckman Coulter business functions in developing and achieving PD/Daily Management objectives

Ensure high DBS penetration throughout the Commercial and Transactional functions through productive kaizen events and seamless integration to Policy Deployment (PD) /Daily Management (DM)

Directly provide formal and informal DBS training and coaching.  Evolve and apply tools as appropriate to drive results.

Achieve Problem Solving Process (PSP) Train-the-Trainer Certification and Certified Practitioner status in at least one other DBS tool.

Facilitate training and Kaizens as appropriate.

Benchmark and incorporate best practices for Commercial and Transactional functions.

Teamwork - must be able to lead a team(s) of Danaher employees from multiple disciplines and/or companies

Ability to influence others - must be able to inform, convince, and persuade others to action on key initiatives

Must deliver results

Must possess the technical skills necessary to be seen as credible in DHR by peers and managers

Must be able to effectively communicate in both written and verbal forms

Job Requirements


Must be hands-on and detail-oriented but also able to see the big picture.  Need to be able to think strategically and view the business from a general management standpoint.  Must be very customer focused and have strong interpersonal and communications skills. Will need to be a quick study who can rapidly adapt to Danaher’s culture and gain the confidence of the Danaher organization.  This person will possess high energy and be able to handle conflict.  Will be an independent worker, capable of operating in a fast-moving, ever changing environment and able to effectively deal with difficult situations.

5+ years of Commercial Service (required) and Transactional Service (desired) experience 

BS or BA Degree in Business, Finance, or related field required; Master’s Degree preferred

Excellent knowledge of statistical analyses

Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a “general manager’s” point of view

Mastery of a variety of DBS tools 

Superior communications and training skills

Superior consulting/influencing skills

Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management

Multiple languages preferred

Direct report to the Vice-President – Global Service

Travel Requirements

20% - 30% domestic travel required
