Description

In this role, the Data Warehouse & Business Intelligence Developer (DW&BI) Developer is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of reporting and analytics solutions for the company by documenting requirements, identifying and understanding appropriate data sources, developing and implementing data warehouse schemas (star schemas), developing BI reports and dashboards, data cubes, and security mechanisms. 

DW&BI Developer will design and implement software and systems that provide timely, accurate, and meaningful enterprise data to key users and decision makers in the company so they can effectively analyze business patterns and trends and make informed decisions.


 


  • High-level of technical competence around Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, and Visualization.
    Versed on traditional BI development lifecycle from requirements gathering, data modeling, reporting, dashboard design, KPI and scorecards development, through testing, validation, and production implementation. They should have demonstrated experience with one or more BI applications synthesizing meaningful information from large varied data sets.

  • Excellent analytic skills.
    Ability to capture relevant information from conversations with stakeholders or identify gaps independently; and ability to break down complex problems into discrete steps and/or the concrete tasks necessary to solve them.

  • Business acumen.
    Ability to obtain essential information about a situation, focus on the key objectives, recognize the feasible options, recommend an appropriate course of action and set in motion an agreed upon implementation plan to execute the solution that includes buy-in from stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

 


  • Applies data warehousing and BI leading industry practices to successfully design, build and implement solutions to meet the needs of the business.

  • Develops data warehouse structures (e.g. star schemas, OLAP cubes, etc.), ETL processes, and performs DBA operations.

  • Develop and implement BI solutions (e.g. Interactive reports, visualizations, dashboards, scorecards, standard and ad-hoc reports, etc.) that support a variety of business operations.

  • Assist in the design of databases and data warehouses to ensure interoperability with BI solutions and integration with other analytical and transactional systems.

  • Review database architectures and designs to ensure compliance with corporate objectives for data integrity, quality, performance, management, scalability, reliability, and security.

  • Develop quality control measures, testing measures, and the accuracy of data standards and consistency to support deployment of solutions for the businesses and IT.

  • Responsible for prototyping solutions, preparing test scripts, and conducting tests and for data replication, extraction, loading, cleansing, and data modeling for data warehouses.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE


  • Four-year degree in Information Science, Computer Science or equivalent. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Effective business communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and metadata skills.

  • Five years of Data Warehousing, Data Marts, and Business Intelligence (BI), including DW/BI development and implementation, data analysis, report writing, software development experience.

  • Experience in Microsoft environments (e.g. D365, Power BI, SQL, SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, etc.)

  • Work history of successful software design and utilization of latest technologies in Microsoft Azure, Visual Studio, SQL Server Business Intelligence Studio; Microsoft’s SQL server and Windows Server environment.

  • Advance knowledge of SQL and scripting languages like Python, R, etc.

  • Experience with Erwin.

  • Experience with JDEdwards

  • Experience with Master Data Management, Data Governance, and Data Integration.

  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools ideally within the Microsoft stack (Power BI), Tableau, and Jet Reports.

  • Extensive experience of OLTP and OLAP development and implementation.

  • Experience with data integration platforms (e.g. Talend or Dell Boomi), and Java are a plus.

  • Experience or exposure to IIoT and big data implementations a plus.

  • EPICS or ITIL certification is a plus.

  • Bilingual in either Spanish or Portuguese a plus.

  • Up to 10% travel.
