    • Responsible for supplier account management on behalf of Cepheid, including contracts, key negotiations, supplier performance management, and is the primary contact for escalations related to supplier.
    • Develops, aligns and implements commodity strategies with engineering, manufacturing , operations, etc.. inside Cepheid
    • Negotiates and maintains agreements with suppliers that provide the structure for all business relationships between Cepheid and suppliers.
    • Engages with the NPI process to ensure alignment with the commodity strategies.
    • Directs new supplier introduction and/or disengagement requirements to/from the Cepheid supply base.
    • Drives resolution to systemic supply chain issues affecting quality, cost, delivery or lead-time, which may include engagement with sub-tiers in the supply chain.
    • Develops and presents high level cost reduction opportunities.


    • Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time

Job Requirements



    Education or Experience (in years): 

    • Bachelor’s degree in field with 5+ years of related work experience OR Master’s degree in field with 3+ years of related work experience OR Doctoral degree in field with 0-2 years of related work experience

    Knowledge and skills: 

    • Demonstrates depth and/or breadth of expertise in own specialized discipline or field
    • Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services
    • Direct experience leading cross-functional teams to solve complex problems; uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions
    • Communicates difficult concepts and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view
    • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Power Point, Agile, and SAP
    • Ability to read and interpret product BOM's
    • Self-starter with the ability to adapt, critical thinking skills, and problem solve under pressure
