Description

We are currently seeking a Commissioning Engineer to support our growing business.

Position Objective: 

This exciting opportunity is to join our team in France as a Commissioning Engineer where you will manage commissioning activities across France & EMEA for our wine market according to our contract requirements, your goal will be to satisfy PALLs customers needs with OnTime and OnQuality performance.  You’ll be responsible for independently performing testing, commissioning, and warranty service of Pall’s Filtration and Separation Systems where you will be assigned to multiple projects. You will act as “Lead” for Commissioning and Service providing technical advice and solutions to mechanical and electrical contractors.

Systems are generally integrated into a complete process system utilizing tanks, pumps, compressors, drives, automated valves, process + analytical instrumentation interfaced to a PLC based control system with a graphical user interface front end.

Role and Duties:

  • 60 % Responsible for commissioning, testing and troubleshooting all systems hardware including mechanical, electrical and instrumentation. Must implement design modifications in agreement with the Project Engineering Team and Change Control procedures 
  • 20 % Responsible for troubleshooting PLC and HMI software based on established design. Must lead the implementation of design modifications in agreement with the Project Engineering Team and Change Control procedures.               
  • 5 % Responsible for the generation and implementation of written Commissioning Procedures, including Dry and Wet Test documentation and FAT/SAT/Acceptance test procedures.                             
  • 5 % Responsible for documenting system modifications and conveying modification details back to Project Engineering, through the correct Change Control of documentation updates.                             
  • 5 % Responsible for “Red Lining” system design drawings and operation manuals and forwarding to the Project Engineering Team for updating to “as-built” status.                    
  • 5  % Responsible for training customer personnel in the proper operation of the Pall System. Must prepare training materials for various Pall Systems Technologies, including the provision of Standard Service Products relating to the specific technology

Job Requirements



Qualifications

Basic Qualifications/ Experience: 

  • Relevant technical apprenticeship or craft equivalent.
  • Experience in a similar position
  • Site work experience including installation, start-up, faultfinding, supervision, acceptance testing.
  • Relevant Background in automatization
  • Cross trained in electrical / instrumentation / mechanical / process disciplines.  
  • Knowledge of filtration or similar process equipment.                               
  • Ability to work independently with minimum back-up when necessary.     
  • Ability to manage commissioning activities and the customer to complete activities at time
  • Resourceful and quick to learn new processes.                           
  • Knowledge in Siemens S7/TIA Portal                              
  • Site work experience including installation, start-up, faultfinding, supervision, acceptance testing.
  • Current driving license                      
  • Passport holder                  
  • Ability to travel at short notice – home country and abroad.                    
  • Computer literate. Abilities include: email, office applications, drawing software. Project planning software.              
  • Responsible for maintaining a positive relationship with customer. While performing service, the engineer must make sound technical decisions to meet customer requirements while maintaining Pall’s commercial interests.  Independently resolves adverse situations constructively.                   
  • Good level of French & English (both written and spoken)
