Position Overview:
The Commercial Finance Manager reports to the Head of Finance, Microbiology. This function provides financial reporting and advisory services to leaders within the operating company and across the global matrix organization, with a focus on global commercial/sales activities. The Commercial Finance Manager develops actionable commercial analytics, identifies risks/gaps and leads the implementation of counter measures, in close collaboration with North American, European and global sales leaders.
This position interfaces regularly with operating company and global finance management to improve global revenues, profitability and related performance metrics.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in business analytics and can turn financial data into clearly defined actions, to continuously improve business performance.
Responsibilities include:
  • Drive global commercial budget/forecast/close process for the Microbiology business in collaboration with sales and finance partners across the global matrix organization
  • Provide accurate revenue and cost of sales reporting and actionable analytics to drive business improvements
  • Prepare daily sales/bookings reports and analysis
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies in cooperation with global marketing team
  • Analyze and challenge key customer sales agreements and key commercial initiatives
  • Establish and maintain commercial reporting package for senior leadership, including leading performance indicators, risk analysis and counter measures
  • Support development of business plans for new products and collaboration agreements
  • Actively contribute to Business Unit and commercial projects, including ad-hoc data analysis and financial modeling
  • Support Head of Finance and Business Unit Executive Management in preparation of regular operational review meetings and ad-hoc requests
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts across area of responsibility

Qualifications


Required Experience:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in field with nine (9) years’ experience OR Master’s degree in field with seven (7) years’ experience is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Products required (Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Working knowledge of large ERP System (Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards or similar) required
  • Strong business acumen and ability to think strategically required
Preferred:
  • Working experience with large data warehouse system (Oracle BI, SAP BW, Hyperion) preferred
  • Experience in the Medical Device or Healthcare sector preferred
  • Detail -oriented with strong analytical/problem solving skills
  • Ability to influence others not within direct reporting line
  • Ability to interface with all functions and levels of the organization
  • Experience working in an international business environment and/or secondary language skills preferred
