The Commercial Financial Controller will work closely and partner with BioDiscovery commercial leaders to drive the sustainable growth and profitability of the global BioDiscovery business.  The controller will play a key role in providing guidance and support on the overall P&L management of the business and serve as an integral part of the strategy formulation and execution to ensure continue long term success of the BioDiscovery business.  The financial controller will drive a culture of continuous improvement and support that culture across all regions by working closely with regional financial controllers.  This role will provide support and direction as required to constantly improve effectiveness and overall performance.  

  • Contribute to the strategic planning of the global BioDisovery business and ensure financial strategy is in place to support the business growth
  • Develop a solid understanding on the growth drivers and market landscape. Support the business units in maintaining and/ or growing market share, maximize investment opportunities and improve product/ service development
  • Lead, direct and control the financial resources of the global BioDiscovery business to drive strong financial performance both short term and long term
  • Maximize the quality and accuracy of all financial reporting and analysis (operational and strategic levels).  Develop and implement standard procedures and operating processes to increase operational and functional efficiency
  • Manage & support all BU revenue- and expense-reporting, ensuring control, accuracy, predictability and timely delivery of figures, analysis and comments.  Ensure all local, regional and corporate reporting for BU is completed accurately and on-time as directed
  • Provide in-depth analysis on variances to plan and forecast, effectively communicates results to management for all channels, product lines and territories
  • Lead/support actions to achieve sales, margins, and productivity targets consistent with the business plans, including development of contingency plans, improvement initiatives and corrective actions
  • Create an environment where talent is developed through effective performance management
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and provide financial guidance to business to drive high performance as needed

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or relevant discipline required. MBA, CMA and / or CPA preferred
  • 15+ years of experience in a finance function, experience in supporting business units and global operations preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills and process analysis skills, with the ability to work in detail and also see the big picture
  • Demonstrated ability to partner and influence business partners, providing point-of-view through data driven analysis, and understanding of the business
  • Strong professional knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Access and other analytics tools )
  • Demonstrated leadership capability to drive changes, focus on critical few priorities and deliver results.  
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills and ability bring positive influence to the global finance team.
