Beckman Coulter is hiring an Intern Engineer to support the Systems Engineering team implementing sensors for our automated immunoassay instruments.  This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to be a part of a rapidly growing industry working on the cutting edge of medical diagnostic technologies in a research and development environment. The primary responsibility for this position is integrate, collect data, and analyze sensors placed throughout the system,.  As an individual contributor, specific responsibilities include:


  • Perform (bench and system level) testing that cover the expected customer use environment and operational conditions

  • Program LabView data acquisition system to acquire data effectively/efficiently

  • Team with software engineers to collect instrument embedded sensor data

  • Maintain and operate instruments in engineering labs (load samples,  maintain instruments)

  • Analyze, summarize, present, and interpret experimental data to formulate conclusions and make recommendations

  • Connect sensors to electro-mechanical assemblies and components

  • Test Plan and Test Report formal documentation

  • Use problem solving processes to detect and track root cause of data variability

Job Requirements


  • Full-time undergraduate or graduate student attending an accredited college/university

  • Non-graduating status (i.e. graduation date cannot be prior to August of any given year)

  • GPA of 3.0 or above

  • Eligible to work 40 hours per week for the summer program length of 10 to 12 weeks

  • Bachelors in the following disciplines - Electrical Engineering or Computer Sciences with a concentration in Electrical Engineering
