Position Summary:

The role of the CNC Programmer is to comprehend and interpret complex part detail blueprints and create complete computer-generated NC Program(s) and job package(s) using good machining practices, tooling/fixturing and materials knowledge. Determine the most efficient and cost-effective method of manufacturing various aerospace parts.


  • Utilize knowledge of and follow PACS-PQ-0005 Control of Numerical Control with available work centers and resources in order to meet blueprint specifications
  • Use technical knowledge to determine what tooling/fixturing is required and then cost effectively procure it
  • Direct the part routing process by determining work centers and the sequence of operations
  • Independently plan NC Program machining processes for complex aerospace parts from Part blueprints or CAD Models
  • Apply technical knowledge designs tooling and fixturing for NC program applications using CAD software
  • Create an NC program for 4 & 5 axis CNC mills and/or multi-axis CNC lathes using Catia or Esprit CNC software
  • Review newly created NC Programs using computer graphical verification and manual NC programming expertise before releasing the NC Program to the manufacturing operation
  • Create a complete NC setup job package that includes an efficient NC program, all required tooling/fixturing information, sketches, and detailed setup information
  • Collaborate with CNC Operators to direct setups and debug new or changed programs
  • Ensure adherence to any process that is developed
  • Responsible for the procurement of any new tooling and fixturing needed to produce the product

Job Requirements



  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 4 or more years of the following:
    • CAD/CAM experience
    • Programming of 4 & 5 axis CNC mills and/or multi-axis CNC lathes 
    • "Hands on” Machine Shop setup experience
    • Machine Shop Tooling and Fixture Design
  • Working knowledge/comprehension with interpreting complex part detail blueprints
  • Working knowledge in the use of stationary and rotating metal cutting tools
  • Ability to determine efficient and cost-effective methods of manufacturing various aerospace parts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience using Catia and Verticut
  • Technical certificates in CNC Programming or CAD/CAM training 
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills


  • Access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services
  • U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status, or U.S. Government export authorization
  • Mandatory overtime may be required
