Description

Third Shift Schedule: 11:30PM to 6:30 AM

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Operate CNC Mills and/or Lathes

  2. Assist in the selection of tools, holding fixtures, and methods for producing machined parts

  3. Change worn tooling

  4. Perform in-process inspection using precision measuring tools and blueprints

  5. Read and understand all types of drawings required to machine parts such as castings, forgings, and detailed engineering sketches

  6. Check first piece and work during the operation of the part and make cutting tool offset adjustments to ensure parts are machined to specifications

  7. Use various manual inspection equipment (i.e. gauges and automated CMMs)

  8. Change off sets as necessary to maintain quality

  9. Deburr parts during the machine cycle

  10. Effectively perform secondary operations (i.e. set-up and operation on simple machines or processes including drill press, stamping press, deburring, etc.)

  11. Maintain an acceptable production rate based on pre-established standards

  12. Produce products that meet all quality and drawing requirements

  13. Prove out new set-ups

  14. Read and interpret CNC program to recognize and make changes to rectify excessive tool wear and minor program oversights

  15. Identify new ways to machine parts to improve quality and productivity

  16. Troubleshoot simple tooling and programming issues

  17. Assist in training co-workers

  18. Maintain all paperwork and company records associated with producing the part

  19. Participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement events

  20. Promptly report all tooling or program problems to supervisor

  21. Perform other tasks as assigned

Job Requirements



Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  1. High School Diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED)

  2. Completed Trade School Apprenticeship program or a minimum of three (3) years of CNC set-up experience

  3. Fluent in blueprint reading or successfully complete blueprint training onsite

  4. Knowledge of Atleast 3 axis machining and above

  5. Good working knowledge of shop math (i.e. algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and GD&T)

  6. Good understanding of computers, CNC equipment, CNC controls, and tool offsets

  7. Familiar with precision measuring instruments such as micrometer, depth gauges, bore gauges, dial calipers, etc.

  8. Experienced in interpreting tool and part drawings including but not limited to geometrical tolerancing and manually calculated dimensions

  9. Good understanding of quality measures, AQL levels and inspection methods

  10. Must work overtime as assigned


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


  1. Pass basic eye test

  2. Required lifting weight: 50 pounds

  3. Lifting frequency:  Daily

  4. Frequent standing or sitting for extended periods of time

  5. Good eye and hand dexterity

  6. Able to load parts using hand tools


OTHER REQUIREMENTS


  • This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services.  U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status, or U.S. Government export authorization is required.  Any offer of employment is contingent upon Pall obtaining the necessary employment visa and export authorization, including, if required, an export license from the applicable U.S. government agency.

  • Perform preventative maintenance as required

  • Must follow all environmental policies and procedures when working with chemicals, oils, and solvents
