SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This position within the Leica Biosystems organization is to deliver first-class demonstration and application support in order to achieve revenue and market share gain objectives in the designated territory for ePathology products. The Application Specialist will also provide installation, training and first line application support to customers in their defined territory to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and repeat business. This position will also be responsible for the sales of our range of clinical microscopes.
CAREER  PROGRESSION:
The successful candidate would normally have the ability to progress to a dedicated sales/account management role or to an Application Sales Specialist Team Leader position within two years from commencement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
ePathology Applications Delivery            
  • Provide application delivery, with a commercial awareness, to all existing territory customers as required including in-field troubleshooting of applications problems and diagnosing hardware and software failures
  • Undertake product demonstrations and presentations on customer sites as well as support existing customers with technical queries
  • Work with the sales colleagues to identify all key stakeholders in sales projects and then develop and execute strategies and tactics to successfully win business in a way that provides sustained value to both customer and LBS
  • Identify and assist in the planning and execution of relevant trade shows and customer-focused events e.g. seminars and workshops
  • Perform customer training either at customer site or Leica sites, according to need.
  • Support the sales team in the generation of commercial offers
Clinical Microscopy Application Delivery & Sales
  • Drive to commercial close opportunities in the funnel generated by sales colleagues, from stage 2
  • Provide technical support to existing customers and develop new funnel opportunity from our installed base
  • Continually develop knowledge of market and industry trends, competition and customer strategies for potential development
  • Actively participate in development of the territory annual operating plan

Qualifications

 POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
 FIRST SIX MONTHS EXPECTATIONS
  • Acquire and develop comprehensive knowledge and understanding of ePathology solution and CM portfolio.
  • Be in a position to work independently and with the skills necessary to conduct product demonstrations solo
  • Develop and maintain relationships with territory network of customers and key accounts.
  • Conduct agreed volume of on site or reference site demo’s per week
  • Involve and build relationships with Country personnel (internal, Sales, Application Specialists, Marketing, Application Services, Shared Services and Business Unit) to understand the requirements and key factors of success of the business.
  • Develop knowledge and skills for the utilization of effective Leica Biosystems sales tools such as SFDC
Attribute/Skill/Experience
  • Works with integrity and understands compliance requirements.
  • High level of experience in histopathology HCIT segment, gained either from first-hand experience in a diagnostic / life science laboratory or providing application and/or training support to customers.
  • Healthcare industry: knowledge of technologies, processes and selling/purchasing with the territory hospital, competitor and market awareness, especially in the field of ePathology and Clinical Microscopy.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of ePathology and Clinical microscopy
  • Strong communication skills – sound business acumen
  • The ability to liaise with fellow Application Sales Specialists, sales team and management within the Business Division – working in collaboration as a team
  • Strong commercial awareness at the same time as being a application troubleshooter
  • Language requirement – Local Language + English
