Description

Molecular Devices is searching for a Product Manager to join our BioImaging team.  Candidate will be responsible for full life cycle management of existing and novel high-content imaging products.  To accomplish this, the candidate will need to work across functional boundaries with engineering, sales, manufacturing and marketing counterparts. Position reports to the Senior Director of Product Marketing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assess markets and propose new products based on customer input.
  • Specify product requirements that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Deliver strategic input around forward planning for the overall imaging portfolio
  • Communicate requirements to product development teams to ensure a mutual understanding of customer expectations
  • Set financial expectations for new products and work with commercial team to verify assumptions
  • Ensure that products are delivered according to agreed time-lines.
  • Execute product launch plans to ensure product acceptance and revenue goals.
  • Continually monitor product performance and quickly react to any changes in the market.

Job Requirements



Qualifications

  • BS degree in life science, advanced degree in in biologic sciences a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, marketing or applications support.
  • 2+ years of experience with cellular imaging applications and markets
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycles and best practices for UI development
  • Consistent track record of concisely reporting VOC information to marketing and development teams.  Experience with lean start-up methodology is a plus.
  • Experience in fostering outside collaboration activities with end users or companies.
  • Proven ability to accomplish tasks in a team environment (e.g.: engineering, marketing, manufacturing, technical support), providing day-to-day direction where needed to achieve goals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to articulate and present complex concepts.
  • Travel of up to 25% both domestically and internationally is expected to meet with global development teams and customers.
  • Detail Oriented – ability to develop detailed plans and then execute on those plans.
  • Priority Minded – ability to identify and execute on only the most important issues (stay focused).
  • Sense of the Urgency – ability to know when to act quickly to proactively solve problems.
