Description

Goal of the Position:

The Cell Culture Specialist has the responsiblity, on a EMEA level, of selling and supporting Pall Biotech's range of Bioreactors (iCELLis, XRS25, Xpansion and STR) and process development Markets. 


Core responsibilities: 
  • Develop strategies and tactics to meet Sales projections for Bioreactors (capital equipment, parts, maintenance services, consumables, process developments) within the assigned region and as part of a European team.
  • Adhere to Pall Corporate Policies

Job specific responsibilities:
  • Work in close relationship with the sales representative and other technology specialists, to coordinate the activities and maximize results;
  • Serve as primary commercial lead on Bioreactor Sales activities, including support on RFQ/Tenders, demonstrations, installations, proof of concept trials an after sales follow-up (customer satisfaction, problem resolution, coordination of repairs and maintenance service);
  • Work in collaboration with local Biotech Sales teams supporting account strategies and the qualification of potential opportunities in the region;
  • Selectively engage field application specialists and other support resources to maximize the potential of winning new business and ensuring existing customers are satisfied;
  • Attend conferences/tradeshows/customer-site shows to represent Bioreactors and to maintain a professional network that ensures awareness of industry activity/trends;
  • Work with Bioreactor Program leader and Marketing designates to help evolve marketing activity and suggest new product development/portfolio expansion for Upstream Bioprocess technologies at Pall Biotech;
  • Maintain up to date awareness of relevant technical developments.

Qualifications

Education, Skills and Competencies:

  • Degree (or equivalent), MSc or PhD in Science ( Bio)/Engineering;
  • 2-3 years minimum relevant experience preferably in the Biotech industry, or selling said technologies;
  • Experience in the sales of Instruments (plus consumables and services) and general project-related selling in the Biotech/Biopharma Industry (particularly Cell Culture/Fermentation processes);
  • Industry experience in Upstream Bioprocessing, media development, bioprocess development or late stage Biotech R&D. Ability to relate to, and interpret needs of prospective clients;
  • Capable of engaging the customer from hands-on/demonstration level, to formal presentation with Operators, managers, influencers’ and purchasers at all levels;
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams;
  • High technical credibility;
  • An understanding of process Automation and SCADA;
  • Commercial awareness /aptitude;
  • Self-starter and self-motivated;
  • Fluent in English, French and Dutch would be an asset;
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing;
  • Ability to give presentations at conferences, events;
  • Ability to operate as a member of a multidisciplinary team; 
  • Bioprocess work experience in Biotech/Biopharm;
  • Willing to travel ( > 50%);
  • Living in the Benelux Area;
  • Good interpersonal skills to motivate others;
  • Current full driving license and passport;
  • Prepared and able to travel abroad;
  • Prepared to work unsociable hours.
