The Calibration Technician II will perform calibrations, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair on measurement and process control equipment including: temperature, electrical/electronic, and hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical process controllers including all input/output devices. They will assist in ensuring program compliance with Pall Pensacola and ISO standards. With some guidance they will build analog or digital electrical control panels and/or similar controllers. This person will work independently with minimal supervision, and will support and follow manufacturing practices, including Kaizen and 5S activities. Training other employees may be required.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform basic to advanced calibrations on measurement and process control equipment using standard procedures and experience
  • Find and check accuracy of calibration points using algebraic and trigonometric functions as required
  • Troubleshoot basic to advanced problems with measurement and/or control equipment
  • Perform normal to complex calibrations with minimal supervision
  • Write or update calibration procedures or similar documents
  • Identify, document, and correct potential and/or existing equipment and/or process-related problems relative to the metrology functions
  • Document all work in the MVP Plant system (including all time allocated to Calibrations)
  • Document all calibrations for traceability in the Metrology Calibrations Module
  • Complete purchase order requests and use purchasing card correctly
  • Prioritize daily work to support the business teams and production schedules


Job Requirements


Minimum Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or GED, with 3-4 years’ experience with Electro/Mechanical equipment or an equivalent combination of training and experience

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Read, comprehend, and follow complicated written or verbal instructions
  • Perform mathematic functions and understand basic laws of physics applicable to particular measurements or control equipment
  • Troubleshoot and report findings on digital and analog equipment
  • Meet deadlines and pay attention to detail while performing tasks
  • Install, troubleshoot, and program basic to advanced controls systems including PLC’s or similar controllers
  • Read and understand basic to advanced schematic diagrams of control systems

Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of codes and regulations relative to installation and design of control systems
  • Good attendance record which includes no over extending of lunches or breaks
  • Work safely and follow the company’s health, safety and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift a maximum of 50 lbs. for short periods
  • Stand and walk for up to 80% of the workday
  • Climb ladders and stairs
  • Work overhead and in various locations to calibrate or install both control and measurement equipment
  • Wear a respirator which consists of passing a medical survey and pulmonary function test, and being medically cleared by a physician
